I don't think I'll ever get over how a group of unempathetic thugs and bullies continued to abuse and ridicule a ground reporter drenched in rain, for simply wanting to do his job. He looked up at the sky for a brief moment, and gathered enough courage to maintain his composure.

Don’t know about Rang De Basanti, but let me tell you what some of us millennials actually grew up watching. I was in primary school during the 1993 Mumbai bombings -- too young to even understand what terrorism meant. But I distinctly remember my mom repeatedly warning me not to pick up anything lying around while playing outside because, you know, it could be a bomb. That was childhood. Then came the seemingly endless procession of attacks: the 1993 Mumbai blasts, Red Fort in 2000, Parliament in 2001, the Mumbai bus bombings and Akshardham in 2002, three separate blasts within eight months in Mumbai in 2003, the 2005 Delhi blasts, the 2007 Hyderabad bombings, and the 2008 Bangalore and Ahmedabad blasts. In July 2006, I was supposed to be on one of the trains that was bombed near Mahim. I stayed back at the office because of a meeting. A completely mundane change of plans is probably the reason I’m alive to type this instead of being a name on a list of the dead. I remember that evening far better than I remember any stupid movie. Our office went into lockdown. Phones were jammed. People were crying and frantically trying to reach their families. Nobody knew what was happening, whether there were more bombs, or whether someone they loved was lying dead inside a mangled train compartment. Two years later came 26/11. I had the misfortune of watching uncensored footage of the aftermath. One clip showed bodies being piled and stacked inside a makeshift room at CST while someone wheeled in another load on a bloodied wheelbarrow, with blood dripping onto the floor. The sanitised footage shown on television didn't come remotely close to what actually happened inside that station. So yes, us millennials lived through an era where we went to work knowing that the crime of simply boarding the wrong train, getting on the wrong bus, eating at the wrong restaurant, or standing on the wrong street at the wrong fucking moment could get you blown to pieces or riddled with bullets. Some of us literally went to work wondering, somewhere at the back of our minds, whether this would be the commute we wouldn't come home from. So please, spare us millennials this sanctimonious horseshit about Rang De Basanti and what some Bollywood movie supposedly should have taught us about how to vote.

In Germany you have to change your energy provider every year/two years. You sign a contract for 1 year and then they raise prices to crazy levels that is MUCH ABOVE THE MARKET. In my case they've raised price from 30 to 41 cent per kWh. On the second screenshot you can see the market price: - 28.41 ct/kWh (brutto). Cheaper that I had last year! - 8.98 monthly (brutto). Cheaper that I had last year! And every year you have to keep an eye on it. This year I lost it. My contract has finished in May and I am already paying DOUBLE THE PRICE because I didn't take care of it and didn't change the provider. You have to take action every year and change the provider or you end up paying 30% above the market price. It is a crazy system which is wasting my time every year! Luckily it almost got fully automated and you only have to choose the provider and platforms will do the rest. I lost around 100 euros by forgetting changing this on time. Check your contract now - you are likely overpaying!

@igorhansachat Less than that. ATP I'm giving free money to the Krankenversicherung. Coz so far it has happened twice that I went to India to get timely treatment. Waiting would have been more dangerous. But here they don't consider Notfall unless you are on your deathbed :-)

@nachikul crazy right? Here you pay 1000 euro per month and still can't really use it. There you've likely paid $200 overall and got results immediately

I am rarely sick and I have a great Hausarzt (family doctor) next to me. But this time I wanted to visit the ENT doctor (HNO🇩🇪). In my understand this is not a rocket science doctor. I understand that there could be a huge queue to some rare specialists, like doing MRT or so. But having to wait almost 3 months to visit the ENT doctor is crazy. I pay 1000 euro per month btw for it. Obviously, if you switch to "paying out of the pocket" - there is an appointment this Friday. If you are happy to travel to Hamburg - there are also some appointments. Likely, calling the hotline and complain would also do the trick. Lübeck has the ENT-center, the building with several doctors that are specifically working on ENT. There are 2 more ENT-center in 20 minutes drive range. All have no appointments. Not only now, in the summer - the same was last winter (January, 2025). I really don't want to know how much fun it is when you have to do something more complex...

Really now ! @CSMIA_Official This is what is ‘delusional’ !!! @lufthansa At Munich airport waiting for your connecting flight to Budapest. You constantly keep changing the gates. suddenly, the flight time changed from 22:15 to 23:40 w/o any explanation. The lady at the gate said gates can change upto 20 mins before departure. Pathetic

Indian-origin restaurant manager in London sprinted across rooftops and caught a 3-year-old girl as she fell from a second-floor window after dangling for nearly 9 minutes. While onlookers watched in horror and police struggled to reach her in time, he acted without hesitation. The rescue ended with an emotional hug from a police officer. Funny how anti-India clips go viral worldwide within hours, but stories of Indians saving lives rarely get the same attention from major Western media or social media algorithms. Courage doesn't trend as easily as propaganda. But this hero deserves to be seen. 👏

So gratifying to read this. Thanks to both @airindia and @TataCompanies. An Air India source informed me “Families of everyone who lost their lives on the ground are being given compensation exactly the way the families of the deceased pax have. This includes 1 crore of ex gratia from Tata group (philanthropic initiative and over and above the comp paid by Air India)”.
Bangalore Aviation@BLRAviation

As expected India’s #AAIB releases “interim update” on #AI171. Purely out of humanity, what is the compensation to the 19 people killed on the ground. They are not covered by Montreal Convention. They are at the mercy of the airline, courts, and government.

Spoke to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio this evening. I reiterated India’s strong protest at the attacks by the US Navy in the Gulf that killed three Indian mariners. Such lethal actions against commercial shipping are not justified.

Victims of the tragic Air India crash deserve both: compensation as well as justice. It is not an either/or situation. Extremely cruel on part of @airindia management to offer compensation to families of victims only if they forego their legal rights. Kudos to Late Vijay Rupani ji's daughter Radhika Mishra for giving voice to concerns of family members of all the victims. Why should compensation be subject to the families providing indemnity to not only Air India but even its OEMs. @DGCAIndia m.economictimes.com/industry/trans…
