This should be a wake up call to every Canadian. This isn’t an accident. Mark Carney is a smart man. This is intentional.

The CRTC decision on demanding 15% of all revenues from streamers for Canadian content is going to hurt our cross-border trade talks. But the CRTC says they don't care. Why? Because they have incompetent bureaucrats running the show. From my column. torontosun.com/opinion/column…

Are you suggesting that duly elected representatives of the people who literally signed their names to a letter expressing dissent with government policy are akin to confidential sources?

I asked Marc Miller’s office yesterday about the CBC/ Northland Tales debacle. Their answer this morning. They are independent, go ask them. They aren’t independent and neither is this production when it is all taxpayer funded. torontosun.com/opinion/column…

A province is seriously considering seceding because everyone’s been absolute dicks to it — blocking its enrichment and taking its contributions to the country for granted. More patronizing condescension and restrictions are definitely going to make them see the error of their ways. How didn't I see this before?

By allowing 14 members of the caucus to air their grievances anonymously, the CBC is carrying the Prime Minister‘s water. Moreover, they are depriving Canadians the right to explore those cleavages and grievances. Journalists should have the right to seek additional information…

So let me get this straight….CBC has a copy of the letter but they’ve decided to protect the MP’s who signed it?!? Is CBC even pretending to be a balanced media outlet anymore? Last week, CBC got caught lying to a Conservative MP so he would unwittingly be part of their gross spoof. This week they are proactively protecting Liberal MP’s who actually wrote this letter. This is indefensible and I will never listen to anyone who says that CBC isn’t biased. Canadians deserve better!
Brian Lilley@brianlilley

14 Liberal MPs write a letter critical of Carney. CBC gets it and writes this. "Despite signing their names at the bottom of the letter, the MPs do not want to be publicly identified," CBC writes. No names released. This would not happen to Poilievre. cbc.ca/news/politics/…

Soon. I give it a year before legislation is introduced. The heat pump rhetoric is not a coincidence.
MBrant75@MBrant75

Good Morning! If @MarkJCarney wins, all natural gas appliances will be banned, and Brookfield approved heat pumps will be mandatory. Have a nice day!

I love it when Trudeau era MPs show up with a sling shot. Take a seat sir and take notes. Here’s something you got wrong. You think the government builds pipelines. It doesn’t. Companies build pipelines. Private money, private steel in the ground. What the government actually controls is the rules. The framework. Whether a project gets approved in a reasonable time, or dies in a process that drags on for a decade. That was your decade by the way. That’s the whole game. PM Harper fixed that framework. But we couldn’t do it until we had a majority in 2011 because you opposed our changes. We brought in responsible resource development. Clear timelines. We told investors, here are the rules, plan around this. And it worked. Money started moving. Then you and Justin Trudeau reversed all of it. Bill C-69, the no more pipelines bill. Remember ? The tanker ban that killed any line heading to the northwest coast. Northern Gateway, gone. Energy East, cancelled in 2017 because the company looked at the new rules and walked away. And here’s the irony. The private sector got so spooked that your govevrnment had to buy Trans Mountain itself. Started at 4.5 billion. Ended up past 30. Not bad for a comms guy. Eh? 🇨🇦 You can go now.
Francis Drouin@Francis_Drouin

The comms guy who couldn’t comm a pipeline to the pacific coast speaks up. As my father thought me well, when one points the finger, there is always three fingers pointing right back at them. It’s now the Liberal’s fault that Jason Kenney was given the boot 🙄.

Harsh words from @christyclarkbc that probably caused support for AB separation to tick up a point or two. Also, consulting citizens, giving them an actual say, in matters of national importance is never "stupid".
Cole Hogan@colewhogan

Full section from @ChristyClarkBC. I understand this is a Laurentian tendency but calling Alberta separatism or a referendum stupid and saying @ABDanielleSmith, a duly-elected premier, is "not qualified to be premier of a province" doesn't help the pro-federalist cause.

Carney told us to brace for sacrifices. His government is asking departments at home to cut. Public service spending is being reviewed. Programs Canadians actually use are being trimmed. Meanwhile, Global Affairs Canada is still funding “gender-responsive and inclusive protection services” in Sudan. $18.5 million. The cuts are for you. But the cheques, they’re for everyone else.

This is an absolute disgrace and yet another example why change is desperately needed at Toronto city Council: a councilor gets his *personal* legal fees covered, for an integrity commissioner review of *his* conduct. You can't make this shit up. #topoli
