I'm proud that my Rural Jobs and Hydropower Expansion Act passed out of Committee today with bipartisan support. This is an important first step to get this vital legislation to the President’s desk. Cutting red tape and unleashing new hydropower development will create good-paying rural jobs, lower energy costs for families and businesses, and strengthen our energy independence.

💧@RepTroyDowning’s H.R. 7250 supports the development and maintenance of critical rural water infrastructure in northeastern Montana by reauthorizing the Fort Peck Rural Water System Act of 2000.

⛏️ @RepMikeKennedy’s License to Drill Act ensures the Bureau of Land Management has adequate resources to process permits in a timely fashion by amending the Mineral Leasing Act to extend the period of time during which the Secretary of the Interior is required to collect a fee for each new application for a permit to drill.

PASSED OUT OF COMMITTEE ✅✅✅✅ Today, Natural Resource Republicans passed 4 Republican-led bills out of committee that will streamline permitting, strengthen American energy production, safeguard tribal traditions, and invest in critical water infrastructure.

Yesterday, I questioned @SecretaryBurgum during the House @NatResources Committee hearing on the FY27 Department of the Interior budget. We discussed the failures Oregon has faced from poor federal land management, wildfire risk, and delayed permitting. I look forward to working with the Department of the Interior to support active forest management, responsible resource development, and policies that help rural Oregon.

I shared how Wyoming is driving the future in science, energy, and technology at the Women's Mining Coalition's 2026 Symposium. ⛏️ Wyoming is pioneering American energy dominance, and I was pleased to update these women on critical legislation. 🛢️

Today in @NatResources, I talked about the importance of extending authorization for the Fort Peck Reservation Rural Water System and continuing critical water infrastructure projects across northeastern Montana. Reliable water access is essential for tribal communities, rural families, agriculture, and long-term economic growth.

During yesterday's @NatResources hearing, I asked @SecretaryBurgum how the administration is taking additional steps to protect America’s great outdoors while balancing the economic impact that regulations can have on hunting and fishing activities.

We agree. It's time to pass the Fix Our Forests Act and send it to the President's desk.
