Our country was set up to avoid exactly this. We are NOT a pure democracy. And we are not a pure democracy so that those who live in the urban areas can’t lord over those in distant rural areas. I’m beyond disgusted. What is the GOP doing to counter this BS and save our constitutional republic?

🚨 Virginia has joined the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. This brings America one step closer to a national popular vote for President.

@Theclassified7 @stevesi Don’t be so sure. The state legislatures in Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin are very close. If this really is a Dem year, it wouldn’t be a stretch to see them all fall. They also all have Democratic governors. That would give the compact 277 votes.

This is a blatant attempt to circumvent the deliberate constitutional construct that avoids mob rule and tyranny of majority. It explicitly makes the voting of about 15 states irrelevant and of course it is constructed so they don’t need those states to put this into force. Run this on 2000 and 2016 and you’d be shocked to see what the outcome would be.

BREAKING - Outrage is erupting across Virginia after Abigail Spanberger signed HB965 into law, effectively rendering Virginians’ presidential votes null and void, with the measure handing the states electoral votes to the national popular vote winner regardless of states results.

Can anyone tell me WHY this is not ILLEGAL. Okay... lets unpack...Virginia as Governor Abigail Spanberger signs HB 965 into law, joining the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. The measure would award the state's 13 electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote—regardless of how Virginians actually vote in a presidential election. Huh?? Am I reading this right? Sooooooo even if Virginians voted Republican by a landslide.. the electoral vote of Virginia goes to Democrats ??? Isn't this why the electoral college exists?? The compact goes into effect when states cumulatively possessing a majority of the electoral votes have joined the compact. As of 4/14/26, the compact has 222 electoral votes, requiring 48 more to become effective. My head hurts...

@JackDangerLIVE Yeah they did that in my state today! Crazy! What I don’t get is why this is left up to the governor? You’d really think an issue like this would be put on the ballot for people to vote on. Why are we getting no vote in changing how our votes are counted?

🔥SHOCKING: States are BYPASSING the Electoral College without ever amending the Constitution! States are quietly signing onto something called the National Popular Vote Compact, and most people have NO idea what it actually does. Here’s the reality: 👉 States in the compact agree to give ALL of their electoral votes to the national popular vote winner 👉 That means your state’s vote can be completely overridden 👉 It only activates once enough states join to control 270 electoral votes And guess what… They’re ALMOST THERE. As of right now, they already control 222 electoral votes, just 48 away from being able to decide the presidency based purely on popular vote. This is NOT a joke. 💥No constitutional amendment. 💥No national vote law passed by Congress. 💥Just a coordinated agreement between states to flip the system. So when people say “the Electoral College is still in place”, technically true.. But functionally? It can be bypassed the moment this hits 270. This isn’t some future idea. This is happening RIGHT NOW. 👀 Pay attention. The rules of presidential elections may be changing without most Americans even realizing it.

@JackDangerLIVE It's an odd idea but if they try to implement it (let's just say that Cackling Kamala wins the popular vote next time around (gag!) and this kicks in... President Trump could have the Justice Department file against these states and then just stick around until the last appeal.

@daveybobby_ @dogwoodblooms @PerryMcIntyre13 222 electoral votes now. Arizona (11) Michigan (15) Pennsylvania (19) Wisconsin (10) In a Dem year, we have a very good chance of flipping the chambers needed to take control of all these states. Nevada (6) Democrats just need a new governor for control. That’s 283. Game on.

@dogwoodblooms @PerryMcIntyre13 It isn’t ripe for a challenge unless/until enough states ratify it to go into effect. It’s just a bunch of clowns playing model UN until that happens.

When we first moved to Virginia 10 years ago, a lot of people warned me about how we'd be treated if we lived 'south of the river.' At the time, I didn't get it (and you know me, I didn't really care), but with this redistricting bit, I'm finally seeing it. There is absolutely a divide in Virginia. There is the heart and soul of the state, the people who have lived here for generations. And then there are the people who moved here after ruining their own states with their blue policies. And now, those same people are trying to destroy what's left of the Commonwealth, while insisting rural Virginia is out of luck. 'LAND DOESN'T VOTE,' they declare. They're fine with handing the Commonwealth over to politicians in D.C. like Hakeem Jeffries, because Virginia is not their home. They have no loyalty to this amazing state, where our country began. And it shows. So, it's up to us rednecks in rural Virginia to save her. I believe we can do it... I just need you to believe we can. Show up. Please. Vote NO.

OK. But it litterally also says you shall not enter into an agreement or compact with other states. These are not in conflict what so ever. Do you believe the states can elect representatives based on trial by combat? If you answer no... Then you have some explaining to do. I say that the 8th amendment bars cruel and unusual punishment which that would certainly be for an electoral loser. Your arguing like an 8th grader instead of rationaling. The 2nd amendment litterally says shall not be infringed, but it is constantly.... How? Interaction in other constitutional structure. The tax power is used to override the the 2nd amendment in NFA..... Learn some history kid.

Art 1 sec 10. No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay. Imo - It clearly states that the states are individuals and shall not collect against the constitution / federal gov without prior Auth. You might think it doesn't mean this but there is clearly text with a colorable defense.
