Colleen McCarty is not part of the same courthouse system that’s been making these calls for years. She’s built her career pushing for accountability, transparency, and real changes to how cases are handled, especially when it comes to victims. She helped pass the Oklahoma Survivors’ Act. That alone tells you she cares about victims. Her platform focuses on repeat offenders, using data to actually reduce crime, and making sure victims are a priority. The events of Saturday night were horrifying. It is difficult to believe that this is the third time President Trump has faced an assassination attempt. I am thankful for the many law enforcement officers who responded, in particular those who secured the shooter before he could harm the president or anyone else at the event. Political violence is never the answer, and it must end.
