With support from the NFF and the Forest Service, @obaincorg completed a mentoring and work learning program in @Angeles_NF that seeks to increase National Forest use by those who have not been historically represented in the National Forest System.

This group of youth hiked up to Sandstone Peak which is the highest summit in the Santa Monica Mountains. They then celebrated their triumph with a visit to the beach! . . 📍Native Chumash/Tongva Land

Youth backpacked a total of 7 miles up to Cooper Canyon for their High Sierra screening hike. They are practicing before they spend 6 days backpacking in the High Sierra. Many of these youth have never been camping before so it’s very much a physical and mental challenge!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
