It should be pretty obvious at this point that AI is a "force multiplier" not a "labor substitute". It helps experts be better at things they are already good at. It doesn't let beginners match experts. If you can't write, anything you write with AI will be unmitigated slop. If you aren't a software engineer, anything you vibecode with AI will have security holes and won't be able to scale past a toy demo. If you blindly trust AI to deliver on a research task without knowing the subject matter, you won't be able to fact-check it. There's this weird misconception of AI as something that completely levels the playing field. I don't see it that way at all. There are mathematicians deriving novel lemmas with off-the-shelf models. Normal people can't do that. AI is a tool that makes experts better. It doesn't make everyone into an expert.

Hmm. I can't see anywhere in the Islamabad Accord where Israel is bound from striking Iranian proxies. Israel retains full operational freedom. The recent attacks have also significantly degraded Iran's military assets & decades of buildup. It's a generational loss, & it may not be wise for Iran to continue to push the war button. The $2m per ship/$100B per year revenue claim is highly unrealistic IMO. Pre-war, the Strait saw roughly 100–138 vessels per day (including ~20 million barrels of oil equivalent in tanker traffic). Even if Iran charges $2m one-way on every transit, which only a handful of 'friendly' ships have reportedly paid so far, often in yuan - gross revenue might reach $15–30b annually at best. So where's the $100b revenue line going to come from? And that $100b number assumes zero pushback: no rerouting or alternative routes, no skyrocketing insurance, no drop in demand, and no international naval escorts to enforce freedom of navigation. In reality, sustained high fees would quickly reduce traffic & invite coalitions that can forcefully/militarily crush those numbers. Anyway, we see how events unfold. The next two weeks will make everything clearer. It's not over till it's over.

I expect the Gulf to gradually normalize relations again with Iran, which started after Israel's strike on Qatar. Also the balance of power will drastically shift away from Israel, and this may have massive positive implications on Lebanon, Syria, and possibly even Palestine. 6. China is the BIGGEST winner, as Iran controlling the Strait of Hormuz means China is indirectly controlling it 7. Iran's control of the Strait of Hormuz is a generational strategic loss for the U.S., and a risk to the dollar dominance (Iran can chip away at the Petrodollar) 8. Hezbollah will come out stronger from all this, possibly more powerful than it has been in decades (unless the deal involves Iran disbanding their proxy network) 9. I'm exhausted and need to sleep.
