I want to say that as a UK citizen I do not find the Eid festivities and public prayer in any way disturbing. I find any suggestion that they are disturbing to be very offensive and un-British.

@JonathanPieNews Why does that matter? The government is spending more than they are taking and dept is rising. The books aren't balanced regardless if its spent on state pensions or sickness benefit.

Does welfare include state pensions? I think it does you disingenuous tit. In fact unemployment benefits are roughly 1% of what we spend on state pensions. We can see what you're trying to do here. Wanker.
Matthew Elliott@matthew_elliott

The Government will collect £331bn in income tax this year, and spend £333bn on welfare. In other words, we now spend more on people not working than we raise from those who do. And the cost? Debt per person has risen from £11.5k in 2000 (inflation adjusted) to over £41k today.

He almost .. ...almost....ah nope he's missed the point. Again. Immigrants coming here create jobs and contribute to our economy. Making it harder for them to do that after they are already here will mean they are more likely to end up in poverty. Its a lose lose for everyone and why we're seeking to change this policy.
Neil O'Brien@NeilDotObrien

Labour now simultaneously saying immigration is brilliant rocket fuel for our economy and that these migrants are in desperate need of benefits. Erm...

Thanks for all the messages and comments following yesterdays #PMQs People clearly see through the pre-scripted nonsense from Starmer, and it appears you were as annoyed by it as I was. The official 📸 from yesterday captures my frustration at his disrespect to the House well ⬇️

It's a good job Richard Tice wasn't badly advised on the sale of a house before he became an MP, because he'd be in for two weeks of hostile Daily Mail front pages then

The answer is approximately £30 million total savings, which would take approximately 1500 years to accumulate. I feel this is possibly less efficient and achievable than the schemes @TiceRichard employs, so we can conclude @DanielJHannan is talking out of his arse.

How much do I need to put in my ISA to avoid £600,000 in tax?
Daniel Hannan@DanielJHannan

It’s hardly my job to defend @TiceRichard. But there is nothing wrong with legal tax avoidance. Legal tax avoidance is what you do when you buy an ISA. If you dislike the specific arrangements he had, change the rules. But don’t complain that he was following existing rules.

@SBarrettBar Steven if I wanted advice on parliamentary procedure and tactics to defeat the government on clauses of a Bill I wouldn’t ask for your counsel. Likewise, if I wanted legal advice I wouldn’t instruct you either. You are a laughing stock in the legal professions sunshine. ❤️

@JohnHealey_MP @LukePollard Calling for an apology and for her to withdraw her comments isn't an attempt to score political points? Surely her comments can stand or fall on merit.

For Kemi Badenoch to suggest they’re ‘just hanging around’ - to score political points - insults the men and women of our Armed Forces. She should apologise and withdraw her comments. (2/2)

Keir Starmer is losing voters of all colours, religions, ages and locations. Interesting how it's "sectarian" when British Muslims decide to cast their ballot for somebody else.

Once again, the Government beats forecasts. Public finances are better than expected, as are retail sales. The decisions we have made to restore economic stability are paying off bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Tackling the cost of living is my government’s number one priority. National Living Wage and the Pension Triple lock increased from April. Rail fares frozen. Extending free school meals, 5p fuel duty and capping bus fares at £3. Change does not happen overnight, but change is happening.

Inflation has fallen to its lowest level in 10 months. This means: ⛽️ A litre of petrol at its cheapest in around 5 years 🥩 Meat, bread & cereal dropped in price Of course there’s more to do, but this Labour Gov will keep pressing down on high prices👇 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@overnunder @mgshanks @Bill_Esterson Based on 2025 data from sources like Statista and IEA, Bermuda has the highest domestic (household) electricity costs at ~$0.47/kWh. For industrial electricity costs, the UK tops major economies at ~$0.22/kWh, followed by Japan and Germany.
