Happy to receive Senator Penny Wong, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia. We discussed the growing India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in areas such as defence, trade, technology and ensuring supply chain resilience. India and Australia will continue to work for a free, open, secure and prosperous Indo-Pacific. @SenatorWong

The big push for work from home is yielding not very surprising results. Many more job losses to come.

To the younger generation out there — how are you feeling about the current property market, the budget, and the possibility of house prices reversing? 🤔 Are you looking to buy in, waiting on the sidelines, or just not bothered? Keen to hear what younger Australians are actually thinking right now. 🇦🇺

Sat down with Mark Kenny and Marija Taflaga on the Democracy Sausage podcast and covered our Budget, reform, and the real meaning of aspiration. This Budget is all about addressing some of the anxieties we’re seeing across the world, and I appreciated the opportunity to chat about it in more depth than usual. If you’d like to have a listen, you can find it here: open.spotify.com/episode/4yVzGw…

Our housing system has been stacked against ordinary Australians for too long. That’s why we’re making changes to level the playing field for renters and first home buyers.

Can someone please explain in simple language why Australia shouldn't ban short term rentals like Airbnb? If we did that, it would free up literally thousands of houses and bring them back into the rental market & discourage investors owning multiple short term rental properties

@linzcom Negotiations 101, start at something outrageous and then look reasonable when you settle for what you really want. I reckon they scrap the CGT for shares and business but keep everything else.

#BREAKING Nat Barr grills Clare O’Neill on the rental fallout after last weeks budget announcement where dozens of viewers have written in explaining how their rent has now skyrocketed. Barr “were you prepared for the fallout on the rental front?” O’Neill “the evidence of the modelling work done in the budget said it would have no impact on rents” Barr “wow” O’Neill “Nat, if you don’t believe me, listen to the Commonwealth Bank who modelled the changes and said the impact on rent would be negligible” So, in other words, they didn’t do the modelling but instead googled the Commonwealth Banks modelling and went with that. It’s scary to think these people are actually in Government making decisions on our behalf.

We're bringing the dream of home ownership back in reach for young Australians. And it's why we're changing property investor tax breaks to give first home buyers a fair go.

@Cassandrasl99 But what this person is saying is not true. If it was true, Australia would have an oversupply of rental properties.

Primeminister of India, Narendra Modi, would not take my question, I was not expecting him to. Norway has the number one spot on the World Press Freedom Index, India is at 157th, competing with Palestine, Emirates & Cuba. It is our job to question the powers we cooperate with.
