@narendramodi Oh crap! Immigration wave incoming.
Canberra doesn't know how to make a deal without flooding the country with immigrants

To the younger generation out there — how are you feeling about the current property market, the budget, and the possibility of house prices reversing? 🤔
Are you looking to buy in, waiting on the sidelines, or just not bothered?
Keen to hear what younger Australians are actually thinking right now. 🇦🇺

Sat down with Mark Kenny and Marija Taflaga on the Democracy Sausage podcast and covered our Budget, reform, and the real meaning of aspiration.
This Budget is all about addressing some of the anxieties we’re seeing across the world, and I appreciated the opportunity to chat about it in more depth than usual.

@NathanS82182466 @k_eagar Housing is NOT a right.
NOTHING that requires the labor of another person is YOUR RIGHT.
English

@DavidBassanese Yeah but the govt said property investors are very good and keep negative gearing and capital tax discounts for NEW BUILDS its there as you are trying to help renters

@Subjectofinance @linzcom That’s what seems like, Jim has done PHD so assuming he knows
English

@linzcom Negotiations 101, start at something outrageous and then look reasonable when you settle for what you really want.
I reckon they scrap the CGT for shares and business but keep everything else.

@SpachusAus @DrCameronMurray @TheAusInstitute If there are so many investors then why are rental vacancy rates <1%?
English

People are upset that @TheAusInstitute has noted that the number of homes has grown faster than the population over the past decade.
But it is true.
Cameron Murray@DrCameronMurray
I need to do a better job educating my followers. Most think there are fewer dwellings per capita today than 30 years ago. The actual numbers are - population up 50%, dwelling stock up 60%. And the average dwelling is bigger and better than ever.

@Ryandally08 My rent go up 10% every year regardless the rates or govt policy

#BREAKING Nat Barr grills Clare O’Neill on the rental fallout after last weeks budget announcement where dozens of viewers have written in explaining how their rent has now skyrocketed.
Barr “were you prepared for the fallout on the rental front?”
O’Neill “the evidence of the modelling work done in the budget said it would have no impact on rents”
Barr “wow”
O’Neill “Nat, if you don’t believe me, listen to the Commonwealth Bank who modelled the changes and said the impact on rent would be negligible”
So, in other words, they didn’t do the modelling but instead googled the Commonwealth Banks modelling and went with that.
It’s scary to think these people are actually in Government making decisions on our behalf.
English

@Cassandrasl99 But what this person is saying is not true.
If it was true, Australia would have an oversupply of rental properties.

@JacintaAllanMP Why don’t you make it permanently if you really think it’s helping
