Delighted that the Centre has revoked @sonamwangchuck’s detention, but 169 days seems to have been an inordinately long time. The @SupremeCourtGOI needs to evolve a strict norm for maximum periods of detention permissible without trial. Indefinite detention is an undemocratic practice left over from the colonial era. It has no place in a mature democracy.

@MTPHereToHelp @mybmc Why does the civic bodies who dig up roads, not inform the traffic police about it. @mybmc, @AmeetSatam , @Dev_Fadnavis

Juhu connecting road to Bandra is closed. The traffic cops are happily letting people take the right after sndt. The main headquarters don't inform their right hand what the left is doing @MTPHereToHelp @mybmc. Don't start digging without a plan and information dissemination.

SHAME ON TEAM INDIA! 😡
When we won the World Cup under Kapil Dev in 1983, we had Hindu Muslim Sikh and Christian in the team.
We brought the trophy to our religious birth place our motherland India Bharat Hindustan
Why The Hell Is The Indian Cricket Trophy is being Dragged.
Why NOT a Mosque? Why NOT a Church? Why NOT a Gurudwara?
This Team Represents INDIA — not Surya Kumar Yadav's or Jay Shah's Family !
Siraj never paraded it at a Mosque. Sanju never took it to a Church. latter had a major part to play and was man of the tournament.
The Trophy Belongs to 1.4 BILLION Indians of EVERY Faith — NOT ONE RELIGION'S VICTORY LAP!

"Hussein ne bahut wicket gira diyela hai" (“Hussein took many wickets”) — Mohd Ismail's phrase for contract killings.
I write on Bambaiya & its colourful, recursive relationship between the street & the screen.

A law should be passed in Parliament that mandates the following:
All MPs, MLAs, judges, ministers, IAS, IPS, and other government officials must receive treatment only in government hospitals.
No one should be allowed to seek treatment in private hospitals or travel abroad for medical care.
Let them experience the healthcare infrastructure they have built for the common people.

I believe that many bikers in India are alive today only because a car or 4-wheeler applied sudden brakes to avoid hitting them when they suddenly cut in.
Imagine millions of bikers on the road- alive only due to other people's reflexes!
In India, bikers need DRIVER EDUCATION more than anyone, but ironically they are the least trained/educated in road safety.
And so the deaths continue...

Life of MPs in India
• Free electricity
• Free water
• Free toll tax
• Free flight tickets (official travel)
• Free train travel
• Phone allowance up to ₹1.5 lakh
• Lifetime pension
• Entitled to a government bungalow or apartment.
Even an ISRO scientist doesn’t receive as many privileges as politicians gets in India, despite everything being funded by taxpayers money.

Dear @grok
How much is the price in rupees to procure a fully equipped heavy duty road sweeping machine in India? If Karnataka Government buys 46 machines how much will it cost?
Setting the Context:
Karnataka Cabinet approves ₹613 Cr to RENT (NOT BUY OR LEASE) 46 sweeping machines for Bengaluru for 7 years.
So that works out to 13 Crore per machine or 15 Lakh per month per machine 😀😀 Of tax payers money 💪
In my View, One machine should not be more than 1-3 Cr 🤡 Which means this procurement should have been done within 150 Cr. And they can be used for years. The saved money can be put in FD and interest can take care of maintenance for decades.
@grok pls give Detailed answer only for @GBAChiefComm & @DKShivakumar ji

At 4 pm driving with my wife on the Zirakpur flyover. Two Punjab Police jeeps escorting a VIP towards Ambala come from behind with sirens blaring. Slowed the vehicle to let the first vehicle pass, the VIP vehicle perhaps took three additional seconds to pass because there was heavy traffic. Angered, the rear escort jeep, while overtaking from the left, deliberately cut sharply right, hitting the front of my car and then sped off. It was clearly a deliberate act, not only damaging the car, but with no concern of our personal safety on a very crowded road. The arrogance and impunity of someone who is supposed to be a guardian of law soils the uniform and reputation of the organisation. Hope @BhagwantMann and @DGPPunjabPolice take note.

@talk2anuradha MLAs and MPs getting pension has to be abolished. The govt always cribs about the heavy load of soldier pension on the budget which by the way is meagre but silent on the burden they are for the country.

Imagine this, @AshwiniVaishnaw:
A girl files a harassment complaint. Police record her personal details, address, phone, etc, and then hand them to the accused, saying, “Go sort it out among yourselves.”
Is that how redressal works? When a passenger files a complaint about catering on a train, your system collects their PNR and seat number. Why is that information being shared with the catering staff? If there is an issue on board, the details should be passed only to the TTE and Railway Police, who should proceed with an impartial investigation, without producing the complainant in front of the same staff they complained against.
Look at how Swiggy and Zomato handle complaints: the customer submits proof, the platform investigates internally, and necessary action is taken. If IRCTC were running Swiggy, they’d probably share the customer’s details with the delivery guy and ask both to meet and “resolve it personally.”
Completely unacceptable. Incidents of passengers being threatened, abused, or assaulted for complaining about overcharging are increasing. It’s a systemic failure of grievance redressal. Reform is required.
