One of the things I've noticed about economy class air travel over the last five years or so, is how you almost have to beg for a second drink when the trolley comes round, or dare to approach the staff as they natter in the galley. You have to pluck up the courage to ask for that second glass of apple juice. Do you remember the golden days when the stewardesses were up and down the aisles with drinks all flight long?

@canuck5551 @averpee I can only speak on Vancouver. We dress much more causal in Vancouver to go than, say, NYC I'm from NYC, live in Vancouver so I am aware But you are likely underdressed going out in NYC if you wear what you wear in Vancouver

@averpee It’s what’s known as “premium casual”. It’s a restaurant genre originating out of the Vancouver area that does casual dining in a more upscale setting. Definitely not the sort of thing people dress up for

If you think that Thailand is expensive 🇹🇭, You are living like a foreigner on vacation. 50k baht can go a LONG way here if you live like a local. My rent = 18k in a house with 4 bedrooms Healthy food everyday = maybe 5k Health insurance = 4k Gym = 1k Grab/transport = 3k Rest for shopping, cinema, dining out sometimes, other groceries = 10k No hotels in Sukhumvit, no instagrammable restaurants with Western food, no 150 baht matcha just because, no tourist traps.

Insider reporting from an unnamed White House official says the Iran deal is “95% done.” The remaining 5% of negotiations are focused on Iran opening the Strait of Hormuz and turning over all nuclear material.
Scott Jennings@ScottJenningsKY

🚨After receiving a briefing from a Senior TRUMP Administration Official on the status of the Iran negotiations (someone in the know & not just speculating), I can tell you the following: -USA IS NOT GIVING IRANIANS MONEY FOR NOTHING. All speculation and propaganda to the contrary is false. Some hardline elements of Iran’s govt (IRGC) have pushed fake stories & propaganda to try to kill this negotiation. -Iran deal is NOT done (95%, but still haggling over some language). No deal being signed today. May be a few more days before this is done. -Iran will NOT get any money or sanctions relief up front. -Iran must turn over nuclear stockpile to get anything. USA position is that failure to meet deal commitments means Iran gets nothing. -Long term USA objective is preventing Iran from having nuclear weapon. -Initial deal point is to re-establish free flow of commerce by reopening Strait of Hormuz. Deal should have 2 phases: Step 1 - Open Strait of Hormuz. Give world economy breathing room. Iran agrees to give up enriched uranium. Step 2 - Get the nuclear material turned over. Only then can Iran get sanctions relief. Bottom line: goal is to make a deal that lowers costs for Americans, calms world energy markets, and guarantees that Iranians cannot have a nuclear weapon over the long term. We aren’t there yet. Iran takes forever to get you a response on even small things. But we are close although it still could be a few days. “If we get what we are demanding, this is going to be a historic deal,” SAO says. SAO sounds prepared to do no deal at all if all Iran will do is a “bad deal.” SAO admits deal could fall apart yet. But if a deal is reached, SAO expects very senior USA admin officials to take part in a signing ceremony of some sort. Iran has agreed in principle to the framework but there are still a couple points USA isn’t satisfied with. 95% done. But literally changing words sometimes requires days in Iran’s system. Haggling over language. But USA feels like we have a commitment on nuclear stockpile and on opening Strait of Hormuz. If IRAN doesn’t deliver on commitments, they get nothing. “Iran’s ability to project power is a lot more limited than it was two months ago,” SAO says. “Their industrial base for building ballistic missiles has been substantially destroyed.”

A young male foreign tourist went viral overnight after he was accused of shoplifting by a Jomtien convenience store, which he denied. When he tried to angrily leave, he became involved in a brawl started by several Thai men. Police are aware but stated no reports have been filed at this time and in these situations police should always be called to mediate.

I will never get used to this kind of obscenity being used in an official statement by the White House Communication Director. The White House no longer aspires to lead from a higher moral vantage point, it seeks to fight in the mud with the pigs.
Steven Cheung@StevenCheung47

Mike Pompeo has no idea what the fuck he’s talking about. He should shut his stupid mouth and leave the real work to the professionals. He’s not read into anything that’s happening, so how would he know.

@Ajarncom I think a measure of a good life is always being happy to go home. We were just in NYC for a week, now Boston for family for 4days And we have had a great time but can't wait to get home to Vancouver We just like our life and home And it's boring....but I like my routine

Our last day in Almaty. It's been a fantastic experience but it's always nice to go home. The three things I miss most - the gym, my own toilet/bathroom, and home-prepared light meals. Yesterday it never stopped raining and was thoroughly miserable - but we might see some sun this afternoon. We fly back at midnight. Six hours to Bangkok.

3rd and Trafalgar in Vancouver's Kitsilano neighborhood. Uproar after 4 street parking spaces just lost to a scooter installation. Many people here are 50's and up and need their cars for work. Do they think these people are going to start riding scooters to work?

Started using these last summer because they’re a hoot. Rode one to work one day, mildly ironically. It was so efficient that I’ve started seriously using them to commute to and from work daily. Yes, I have a car. Yes, people will start riding them to work. Boohoo 4 parking spots lost.

@onthemove555 Not that I disagree. I've seen guys have businesses in Thailand and Thai staff be lazy And I am not saying "my family is better" But I have 4 BIL's that work their asses off. Plus if we need anything done, they are at the house at 5am the next day. My son works 7 days/wk

I've learned a lesson recently with Thais. I mistakenly thought if you paid them more for working harder, they would be happy. Wrong. They just aren't interested in hard work. They do the minimum and complain about it. #thaitwitter #thailand
