@kshashi Also, if they have cloned Postgres, they are not the first one to do so. Postgres's licence is very liberal and allows that. Usually, companies add significant value to the cloned product though, to make it worthwhile.

@kshashi It's very difficult to tell based on the available info. What I can say is that IITM Pravartak is doing interesting stuff in Postgres domain (they were a sponsor and had talks at our Postgres conference last year).

@airindia There are multiple things going on.. I am at the gate A3 at JFK waiting for JFK - DEL flight. I have paid for upgrade from Premium Economy to Business. But now they are refusing the upgrade at the gate and asking me to pay additional $650

@ECISVEEP you should make voting easier not difficult for citizens. What’s the logic behind not allowing mobile phones near the polling booth? And if the rule makes sense, apply it equally every time, not at the whims of the local officer.

That’s a good read about how complex engineering can be, especially when you have hundreds of extensions relying on you. (BTW I so wish to have written this blog given I had the biggest head start into the problem 😊)

@michaelfreedman @craigkerstiens @jessethanley That’s great to know. Our own PGD tests passed too. But I still raised it because it seemed like one of those issues which would only be seen on production systems 😊 Luckily Postgres’s extra memory allocation saved the day for everyone

@craigkerstiens @jessethanley Nobody affected on Timescale Cloud either, and the community docker builds we ship are fine. We just don't control and can't even easily communicate with all OSS installations. Great to see all the involvement from the community, though.

@MartinArMarques @craigkerstiens Actually I caught it a bit too late 😊 I noticed it based on code reading and not because of some actual test failure. The commit was there since late September, so could have been caught and fixed much earlier (if to be caught by code reading)
