Most companies still haven’t embraced AI yet and they’ll be hit like a truck. We are running what used to be an 800 person engineering org with 15 people! Lean engineering orgs are possible now with models like Grok 4.5

@linear can you please make your mobile app’s UI nice? The title floating over comments is kind of annoying

As a designer, I’ve never heard: “Make the logo bigger.” or “Make it pop.”

@ahistoryinart It needs darker darks. That's why it looks washed out, the darks aren't dark enough.

William Merritt Chase established his own summer school at Shinnecock, on the eastern tip of Long Island, New York - this painting (1897) is among the finest works he produced there.

@jorilallo @Gavmn EX90 a much nicer shape imo. But they are getting closer. And given the amount of BVDs and Jaecoos I see these days, most people don’t give a shit about branding.

@macrodotcom I’m a designer, not a marketing guy - so I can state the following with varying degrees of authority. Inter is a great (and admittedly popular) typeface. You are making some interesting choices in how you present yourselves in public.

Paul, the football is on, take a break. Also, it's a nice pairing! We originally engaged DJR to make a version of Forma for Macro, but ended up feeling the grotesque was too close to inter and not differentiated enough. At least we tried something other than Inter, though I appreciate that you just copied Notion on that choice, and added better weights/contrast.

My favourite part of having my own designs explained back to me by the CEO of a competing company that had copied them (but changed the fonts, colours, generally made things worse, etc...) was the idea that one day someone might copy the type pairing of Roboto Slab and Rajdhani.

The 2-up header with the h2 on left and subtext on right is a great format. I'm not sure you invented that, but if you did, thank you. I think it nicely reduces density so the user can read the "main thing" without it feeling cluttered. I also really like, and we've used, the full width product shots. This is of course not new, but the fading of the graphic on the black background is definitely Linear-esque. I like it because the hard lines are abrupt and distract from the main content area. Our fonts are completely different - Linear is Inter, which copies Notion et al. Macro is a more unique pairing of superellipse and slab serif. I don't think you'll find anyone else doing that, but I look forward to somebody stealing the idea! I think it's a nice blend of future and industrial past that suits our current time period. For your header, I don't love the right-justified. I think it's nicer to have it centered, so the CTA has more room to breathe

Marketing pages Linear - linear.app Macro - linear.app (but orange)

We agree, comparison pages are mostly SEO/AEO slop. That's why we have put a lot of effort into ours. Here's how Macro compares to Linear: macro.com/posts/linear-a…. In short, Linear is a really great pure play issue tracker. Macro is a better cohesive workspace (messaging, email, etc.). The fact that it's a full workspace also, at least for us, makes it better at *tracking* our issues.

@pdotcv @j_becke You can go into wayback machine and see the various iterations of our design. There's still some cool stuff laying around from the various iterations still. I think something is also up with our CDN because some routes give old pages...

@j_becke @macrodotcom There is a middle ground between super unique and just copying the work of someone else and changing the colors and fonts. Curious - did an actual designer copy it, or did you just feed it into an agent?
