@Toohey_sp Squat, hinge, push, pull -> treat these with the same level and attention you do any other sports skill and it will be amazing at how much else 'magicaly' gets so much better. 👏

Female athletes ages 14–18 are 4–6x more likely to tear an ACL than male athletes. The earlier they learn to move well and build confidence in the weight room, the more that risk drops.

On any given Sunday, ChatGPT is a poorly educated coach. At best. Poor use of sources. Generic training advice. No consideration for subtle and important nuances. But what if you do the following instead…

This makes alot of sense to me. To my mind, WB is heavily influenced by hoop stress - if the root is damaged / circumfrential fibers thst compromises hoop stress and requires gradual WB, but not 0. I explain to people that collagen during healing initially looks like a bowl of spaghetti and you need force to get fibers to properly align. I've always felt that with healing, force application needs to follow the goldilocks principle - just right. 😊 Force can be by load AND by range -> both need to be considered.

The Theory of Evolution is impossible & absurd. Contradictory evidence & data has been around for decades, but it is mostly just ignored. But one of the most glaring unsolvable problems facing Evolutionary Theory is this: Haldane's Dilemma. Buckle up for this one🧵

@dpolehn Focus on teaching your computer (brain) how to get better at controlling your machine (body). Don't try to brat the crap out of your machine. The limiting factor to progress isn't intensity, its recovery.

Women and girls have the right to play competitive sports in a safe and fair environment against other biological females. This view is held by a vast majority of Albertans and Canadians. It is also common sense and common decency. Skate Canada‘s refusal to hold events in Alberta because we choose to protect women and girls in sport is disgraceful. We expect they will apologize and adjust their policies once they realize they are not only compromising the fairness and safety of their athletes, but are also offside with the international community, including the International Olympic Committee, which is moving in the same direction as Alberta.

@sam_gzstrength Kinda sad that, in response to a factual argument, you just call names and think it’s a flex. Anyways, carry on with this advice - a boon for orthopedic surgeons for almost no upside for your clients relative to safer lifts.

And so the Risk To Reward saga continues
Sam Krapf tweet media
omjnti@ominti7812

@sam_gzstrength The risk to reward of a deadlift is horrible at all levels of experience. It’s by far the highest risk lift for tears and serious back injuries, and involves atrocious ROM, spinal loading, and fatigue to boot.

@nonduality @FitFounder No, no it's not. Strength is an adaptation of neurology. Cardio is an adaptation of physiology.

@FitFounder Cardio is basically weight training for the legs. If that's all you do, the rest of your muscles will weaken and what good is that? Weight training is more important than cardio. Of course, you can do both.

@StrengthDebates Mechanics are similar yes. But squat uses stretch shortening cycle Deadlift, including Trap bar require starting strength. Those two are different.

My take on Trap Bar Deadlift It’s a squat Therefore, Trap Bar Deadlift is not a substitute for a barbell deadlift And you cannot compare the 2 in any way 2 completely different movements, 2 completely different outcomes 🤝
