@US_Stormwatch I’ve been travelling in France for a month, I can attest a lot of this is wheat stubble, yes the grass is this colour too but the trees are still ok just. Cut a hazel stick for the boy earlier, was the driest alive wood I have ever seen.

@ArkaSerezh My father was instrumental to this project, he headed up the London / SE office for EH. My brother and I as quite young 8/10 children got a tour not long after work had started, rooms untouched for years, body’s found, running around the exterior scaffolding. Great fun.

In 1988 the government announced plans to demolish the Midland Grand Hotel at St Pancras.
It had been empty since 1935. The Gothic stone facade by George Gilbert Scott was considered too expensive to restore.

The hotel reopened in 2011. It is now one of the most valuable buildings in London.

NEW: Admiral Sir Tony Radakin has written an explosive op-ed for The Sunday Times.
