🚨 @SRQCountyGov just approved rezoning over 2,200 acres in Lakewood Ranch Southeast to allow up to 5,000 homes. The land, located between University Parkway and Fruitville Road, was changed from a rural designation of 1 unit per 10 acres to 3.5 units per acre — a 3,451% increase in density. I fully support private property rights. But you can’t increase density by that much without first addressing roads and critical infrastructure. I’ve warned the commission about this for years — and they continue to ignore the reality on the ground. We simply don’t have the infrastructure to support this kind of growth.
