@VikesCentral First of all, he didn’t play his first season. His second season was horrid. One of the worst for a starting QB ever. Sometimes you just know whether a player has it or not.

I never meant that he should play because of this. But many young quarterbacks have struggled in their first season starting an haven’t gotten near the heat as JJ has. It’s almost personal to many fans for some reason. Sad really.

*This is the place on the Minnesota Vikings timeline where they need to trade J.J. McCarthy. They obviously don’t see him as their starter anymore and making him stand on the sideline with a clipboard in his hand could do irreversible damage to whatever confidence he has left. They’re obviously going with Kyler Murray as their starter. That’s why he signed there. It’s just a bad situation all the way around and it also has the strong potential to create a ‘toxic element’ in the Vikings team chemistry. This situation could easily create confusion and division in the Vikings locker room. It could also undermine how the Vikings players see Kevin O’Connell. The Vikings have moved on. If Kyler Murray is healthy, I believe there is a roughly 99 percent chance he's the Vikings' starting quarterback in Week 1. Billing this as a "competition" does not make logical sense.
