Strongest argument against democracy is that systemic thinking is very hard. Rare is the person who can hear “yes this policy means we’ll leave some people to starve, but it’s best overall” and not balk. The counterargument is that even a monarchy is subject to overthrow. But the masses can be bought off fairly cheaply, while you keep doing the things they hate that in fact improve their lives, if there’s no competition, if power is otherwise assured. A monarch can do a minimal amount of populism to keep the people complacent, while mostly doing capitalism that’s good in the long run for both the people and for them, as owners of the nation. But in a democracy, some critic can call out the performative nature of their populism and promise more populism. Then, when the critic’s governance has ruined the nation via addiction to redistribution, they just move somewhere else. In a totally unrelated point, Zohran Mamdani and Ilhan Omar are the children of foreign populist elites.

@CommieGibberish I fundamentally think that super dense cities do inflict low level psychic damage on people. We aren't supposed to be surrounded by that many people 24/7. But yes, the problem is 99.5% blacks.
