As an alum I’m appalled by this statement. DEI means Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. All good things. All things that belong in the academy. I’m embarrassed by what is being done to an outstanding university by right wing extremists in the state of Florida.

My take on the Dart situation. This is the only thing I will say about it.
I don’t care that he introduced Trump. I wouldn’t have cared if it was Mamdani. I think it is dumb to care about that.

Yes, the United States has the most progressive tax system in the world. The top 1% pay 40% of taxes, the bottom 50% pay 3% of taxes. We can make it even more progressive by zeroing out taxes on the bottom half. It’s a small amount of the total tax revenue but very meaningful to people in this group.
