I hope it goes well but I am a touch uncomfortable with this team. Jadeja at 6, Nitish at 7 and Washington at 8 seems a long lower middle order but effectively, with 5 bowlers, Nitish is being preferred to Gill as a batter. Fingers crossed

His visa needed to be stamped in the UK. The ECB sent Shoaib Bashir to the UAE, thinking it would be stamped in a third country. Not following basic procedures , assuming things and then crying foul is an old English way. If anyone, it is the ECB at fault.

I must admit I am a little surprised that England have opted to go with three spinners. With Mark Wood being the impact quickie bowling in short bursts, and no other seamer to call on, it will be a lot of work for three spinners, two of are fairly inexperienced. Clearly, they have read the pitch as a big, early turner. I thought Anderson with swing early on and reverse later with Root as the 3rd spinner would be the way England would go.

I think IPL needs to take away the impact player rule, as it's not encouraging the all rounders to bowl much and lack of ARs and batters not bowling is a major area of concern for Indian cricket. Thoughts? #IPL2024 #iplauction2024
