After disappearing from all social media for a while, surviving sleepless nights and somehow managing my cumbersome teaching job, my pre-thesis submission presentations are finally done! Curating a cultural history of Sylhet’s rich folk repertoire has been deeply personal to me. Five years of autoethnographic recollections, painful archival digging, and not to forget the resistance and romance I’ve shared with my work along the way, it all feels material soon!

Delhi: When asked what he would say to those protesting over the NEET exam issue, Delhi University Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh says, "NTA has now announced the new date, the exam will be held on 21 June. Even earlier, I did not feel there was any need for protest, and even today I would say there is no need for it, because this is a sensitive subject. It is connected to the future of our students. The way the question paper was leaked or breached, that should not have happened — there is no debate about that. But if it had not been caught, if action had not been taken, and if the exam had not been cancelled, then many such students would have gotten admission who did not deserve it. It would have been a huge injustice to those students who were hardworking, innocent, studying sincerely, and who did not receive that question paper. The government took the correct decision..."

#WATCH | Following allegations of a paper leak, @NTA_Exams cancelled NEET-UG 2026 and announced a re-examination. @UnivofDelhi Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh backed the move, calling it the right decision taken at the right time to protect students’ future and maintain fairness in the examination system. He said organised gangs involved in paper leaks and cheating cannot be tolerated and demanded strict punishment against those responsible. He also appealed to students to avoid distractions and focus on their preparation for the re-exam. On suggestions to shift NEET to CBT or hybrid mode, he said computer-based exams also face cyber and technological challenges, adding that NEET, with nearly 23 lakh candidates, is among the world’s largest examinations and requires constant vigilance regardless of the mode of conduct. @EduMinOfIndia #NEETUG2026 #NEETUG
