Whatever edge 66 has over 99 or vice versa gets diluted. AND it happens to be true.

Before anyone says Lemieux wasn’t the best ever, look at the all time NHL scoring leaders list and tell me what sticks out like a sore thumb.

I didn’t get that vibe from this couple tho, they seem quite aware they’re well off. Guy just said relatively speaking he’s like middle class compared to others in this rich neighborhood.

@billybinion These people sound realistic about it tho. They say they’re doing fine and actively made choice to stay in small apartment for great location, sacrificing European vacations for things like fancy childcare. Choices not whining. And sounds like they’re saving $10k-15k per month.

This article is a great reminder that a lot of the affordability panic is self-imposed.
This couple wants to live next to Central Park, “tries” to cook dinner twice a week & spends $50,000+ a year on bougie childcare when the NYC average tops out at half that. These are choices.

For the kids who are too young to remember, you used to be able to get basically full, complete coverage above a max of $5,000 (aka “catastrophic coverage”) for 90 bucks a month before Obama made it “affordable.”

Had Lemieux stayed retired he'd have been the only player in NHL history to average over 2 Points/Game for his career.

@dennis_obes4 @Cory_Tucek Mario had a much higher PPG. I do think that he’s exaggerating with Mario’s numbers if he played as many games, but Mario played half his games with a bum back and battling cancer. Orr is goated but he has a like ~1.4 ppg to Mario’s 1.9+.

They say their largest monthly expense is childcare at $4200. But no, if they make $500,000 a year as a married couple with one child, they pay around $4900 in state + city taxes. That's their second largest monthly expense behind federal income taxes.
