Zcash wouldn't exist without @zooko. He seeded the technical and cultural values of the project that have kept us vigilant in defense of its integrity. Much of Zcash's recent success has been because Zooko plays a less central role in the project, and it has decentralized and grown to transcend him. I think he would agree! But he is still a major spiritual force of the project, and an ally that wants it to succeed. Let's be mindful of the signal we send our next generation of risk takers, by how we treat his legacy. Zcash has a long road ahead of it, and no single one of us can carry it across the finish line. We're all liable to end up in @zooko's shoes one day. You do not want to be on the receiving end of the poetic justice served for the things you said when you were once on the winning team.

@BlastingThrough Thanks for reminding us all about Col. Rowe. He is the reason SERE even exists. Such a great man and warrior. The book is incredible too.

Happy to see that the COL used SERE techniques until he could be rescued yesterday. Proud of everyone involved. Today, I want to remember COL Nick Rowe. He taught SERE to us Delta plank owners. SERE stands for Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape. COL Rowe survived five years as a Vietnam POW. Sadly, Communists assassinated him on April 21, 1989. He was a great guy.

When I was 6 years old, in 1979, my dad brought home a computer that he was building at his employer, Texas Instruments. Little 6-year-old me immediately fell in love with it. It was magic. Unlimited possibilities. It made me into a wizard. I never got over that feeling.

I cannot tell you the number of times @bryan_gillespie has impressed just over the last few years. Threaded for preview purposes.

The more I dig into the engineering of Zcash the more I continue to see how brilliant it is. People don’t think of this stuff as “art” but it totally is. it’s structurally going to solve a whole lot of things I think in any reality where money still exists (just a bound)
