writing as a metadao believer: while metadao has mechanics that fix investor alignment, it has way too many hindrances for founders metadao wont be a founder's first choice of raising. i think success will come slowly and steadily metadao is a 3+ year bet at minimum

@JW100x @barrett_io No, only 250k was unlocked per month. If anything this should have been disclosed prior to the raise, but this would have killed all momentum. Its a difficult balance to go between: 1) shutting down vs pushing through 2) hype vs realist 3) marketing vs transparency

all of the team and even vendors took a hit as i tweeted the other day, this was not targeted at 'creatives': founders, engineers, bd, infra, and content all were impacted I am sorry that ranger ended up this way, it had a big impact on many people we obviously did not anticipate liquidation, and thought the ship could be course corrected. that did not happen, but all parties were equally impacted in a negative way while i did not handle payroll or bills, there was not people being paid while others were not (including me): this was communicated to me by the other founders MJ and I had a call in august 2025 where i told him payments will be delayed as we had to prioritize keeping the lights on (ie paying bills for infra and services) given there was no more VC capital and only money came from fees/founders or until a capital injection happens via raise the founders put in 100s of thousands (some more than others) of their own capital to try and keep the lights on as long as possible, last paycheck founders or at least myself came in may 2025 (i did receive 1mo of pay after metadao raise) i did not work directly with MJ given my focus was not on content, but as a friend i always gave him an honest answer when he'd call (he will see this differently) that obviously did not happen, but all parties were equally impacted in a negative way

a client stiffed me. but im not the only one. here’s my side of the story: the company im talking about in the quoted tweet below is @ranger_finance and they owe us nearly ~5 months of invoices, and allegedly owe multiple employees and others outside of the co. we practically built the brand from day one and we generated nearly ~90% of all graphics/content since spring '24 and yet we went unpaid from july-dec 2025. i spent many nights working singaporean hours until 5am. lots of missed nights with the missus. lots of grinning and bearing it. when the bill racked up to 20k, the missus grew concerned and i pushed back pretty strongly ~ "they're my friends. they'll pay me back. they gave me the highest compliment a vendor can receive - 'it really feels like you're part of the team.'" but she was right. by the end of 2025, i was owed 45k. and to date, I’ve only received 10k in backpay. meanwhile, there were employees who were allegedly being paid during that time, while i was led to believe otherwise. and some employees who are owed, haven’t even received the courtesy of a response. im privileged to have a little platform to speak on this, as others aren't in the same position. but its not just me out here; theres a mother on staff who just had a baby last year. shes been floating on her own savings for months because ranger wasn’t paying her between jan-may of this year. she didn't find out about the supposed closure of the company, until she saw the post on twitter last week. send Sunny a shout - she's a fantastic designer and she was more than happy to include her name: @justt_sunnyy and personally, ive tried everything i can to be made whole and i unequivocally blame no one for this other than the ranger team for what im owed. full stop. these are the founders: @0xFA2 @Fibullnacci @barrett_io its not easy to air these things out, but ultimately, im driven by the amount of people who are still owed and the creative community who is persistently stiffed. and to put it bluntly - im owed 35k i love the solana ecosystem and the LA hard tech ecosystem. the number of people reaching out from both, has breathed new life into me. i appreciate all the creatives, founders, engineers and marketers that reached out in DM's from my previous post - it truly means a lot and we're not going anywhere for agency’s, its clear that there is an expectation of silence when nonpayment occurs - i only wish i’d gone public earlier and potentially saved others from the trouble but if you're in this position now, maybe you can get paid or maybe you can just wake up lighter like me if you’ve been on the wrong side of a deal like this, what kept you from going public? feel free to comment below or DM if you’d rather keep it private

They went bust. If you wanted to get paid, the time to put pressure was when they raise the $8M. They never disclosed to the public they were in the hole for what I assume is >500k (maybe millions?). I actually tracked the outflow of money from Ranger and voiced concerned they were spending the full 250k/m. Ill be harsh here. Friends or not, working for a startup without getting your invoice paid means you are lending it money. Its very risky. Trust isnt much of help here, as even if they wanted, they couldnt pay you. If you feel others got paid while you didnt at all, you could potentially sue ranger into bankruptcy and potentially clawback from those that got paid. Short of that... there is no money. imo... not worth the mess. Sorry this happened to you.

Healthy scrutiny is always welcome, especially in security. But it should start with checking the documented process. Ledger Wallet releases can be verified here: support.ledger.com/article/440480… Auto updates are signed as well. Ledger’s model is also designed around the assumption that software can be compromised. The hardware device remains the root of trust, and the user verifies what they sign on the secure screen through clear signing. That is the security boundary.

So @Ledger Live, the max security wallet (setup) app that everyone here uses: - no signed releases - not even integrity checks for releases - hundreds of external JavaScript dependencies ...and we are all fine with that, yes?

I'm not gonna lie, the @Meta layoffs are some of the most dystopian I've ever seen. They got told to work from home, they were sent the emails at 4AM in the morning. Those who weren't impacted have software on their computer that tracks their every move, preparing AI to take their job as well. They're literally training the AI that will eliminate their position as well. Meanwhile, Meta is raking in RECORD PROFITS. I am a massive, unapologetic AI enthusiast. Yet, this is NOT the future I had in mind. I wish for Meta to crash and burn. This is not the way. Literally nobody benefits from this.
