Cuba is in crisis. If you want to do more than complain on X, these American organizations are on the ground, getting aid and opportunity directly to the Cuban people. Your support matters more than ever. 🤝 Humanitarian aid: Friends of Caritas Cuba: friendsofcaritascubana.org, Catholic Relief Services: crs.org/where-we-work/…, Order of Malta: ordendemaltacuba.org, Catholic Charities of Miami: ccadm.org 📈 Economic empowerment: Cuba Emprende has trained 12,000+ entrepreneurs since 2012 and has a waiting list for every single class. Help them scale: cubaemprendefoundation.org All are U.S. law-compliant and not a dollar donated touches Cuban state banks.

The official homeless count in Miami-Dade stands at roughly 3,500. In reality, it's closer to 66,000. We looked into who, and where, are Miami-Dade's "hidden homeless"? (gift link) miamiherald.com/news/local/com…

Moving to Miami, so buying this. This is what they wear in Miami, right? It's like the Patagonia fleece in SF, but translated.

Temps are dropping, and so are iguanas! 🦎 Much like many Floridians, iguanas can’t stand the cold (Literally.) ❄️ If you’re in South or SW FL, a new Executive Order allows people to remove these invasive reptiles from your property and bring them to one of five designated FWC offices Feb. 1 & 2 – no permit required! Details for scooping them up are here: content.govdelivery.com/accounts/FLFFW… 📸: Palm Beach Post

This is wrong. Total units/population isn't nearly as important as units built/population. Lots of those units are in wrong places or contain fewer ppl/unit than ever Red area here is housing that doesn't exist. It's what 2008 caused us not to build. We do have a shortage.

Everyone keeps saying America has a “housing shortage.” It doesn’t. Divide total homes by population and you get this: We’ve never had more housing per person than we do right now. The problem isn’t supply. It’s prices.

Florida’s Live Local Act flew under the radar when it passed in 2023. Almost 3 years later, there’s 52,000 Live Local units in the pipeline per @FLHousingC’s tracker. Obvs pipeline units are just that. Even so, that’s got to make it one of the most productive YIMBY bills ever.

Miamiposting might be a phenomenon whose time has passed, but having just spent a few days visiting, it really does feel like a boomtown in a way that no other American city that I've spent time in over the past few years does. In some ways, it reminds me of Chinese cities.
