But I can't go into the ER, after being treated by 5 paramedics... only to be sent home without a solution or guideline except crutches and a knee brace (that I had to recommend because I can't bend my knee. And since I'm not a penguin, that's going to be tough going.) All because the ER Dr said "it's not a fracture on the x-ray. It MAY BE a torn ligament, which we're not going to do anything about because you're not an Olympic athlete." Moment of silence. Oh, okay, @Netcare_Limited ER doctor at Olivedale. That's nice. What do I do when the morphine runs out of my system and not only can I not bend this knee at all, but the labour-like pain returns? "You just have to take pain meds until it's not a problem anymore. You can come in tomorrow for a sonar. It's closed now." (6pm) Me: can't I do it under in-hospital benefit? I can't bend my knee and have no money left (not his problem. I know.) Him: the orthopaedic surgeon says "no." You have to be admitted first But we can't admit you without an MRI. Ok. I understand. Rules are rules. But... I CAN'T BEND MY KNEE. Not only because of pain. I just can't bend it. (But remember guys. I'm not an Olympic athlete) So with pills (leftover opioids, Stillpane and a Panado), I went to sleep, after my mom put some arnica oil on me. It's 3am, the morphine has worn off, and I'm searching for orthopaedic surgeons that can help me today. Because I don't understand which part of "I can't bend my knee" makes it easy for a doctor to say I can go home because I'm not an Olympic athlete. When he knew that the morphine wearing off would bring Satan to my life. SORRY??? I left with zero guidance on what to do next, by the way. Just a pain med script and a Dr's note. The sonar he said I need today? No referral note. Should I consult a dolphin to help me with that? A bat? The paramedics were amazing. The nurse was kind. The doctor? I was bothering him, seemingly. Minister @DeanMacpherson, For collecting a document at Home affairs, I was told today to make an appointment. The only place I can make an appointment is online, on your system that fucking sucks ass (it kicked me out 5 fucking times today while trying to make the appointment). I could of course refuse to make the appointment, but as your department is fucking useless, those without bookings for even such a simple thing as picking up a document, stand in line for hours with no hope of even entering the doors while those who did manage to make appointments on your fucked up system keep getting called in. After standing in line for hours despite their reservation. My question is how on earth are rural citizens, with no access to the net or computers (you try doing it online with a fucking phone, I dare you fatboy) and no Starlink I might add (fuck you too @MYANC) supposed to access the services you are mandated and requires to provide to ALL citizens?
