You do realize that using 10, 15, 20 years of data makes no sense considering this is a completely different era. Transfer portal, NIL, etc.

@georgewrighster your sample size is....3 years? 3?!??!?! in that time frame draft picks is still WAY in favor of SEC what happens if you use a 10 year, 15 year, 20 year time frame? or does recency help your point therefore thats the timeframe youll use?

@ByuSome @AggiesRecruitEx And if that’s not the argument, I’d rather more teams from the other conferences because of the unknown that’s impossible to fix because we’d never have enough games to justify at-large picks. Put BYU in over Bama because we don’t “know” that they couldn’t beat them, etc.

Yah, this "special SEC treatment" mentality is the worst thing in CFB. Below is 8-4 Mizzou. They have 0 wins over a team with a winning record. At 9-3, they would've had 1 win over a team with a winning record. BYU at 11-1 had 6 wins over teams with winning records. Texas A&M was 11-1 going in the CFP. They played 3 teams with winning records and went 2-1 (10-2 ND, 7-6 LSU, 9-3 Texas). This little, "We need so much special treatment and life is so tough for us." is stupid and needs to end. Nobody else does this.

@imtreysmith People need to get over the idea that ANY playoffs reliably finds the “best” team, or that we even could determine the “best” teams to go in - upsets happen, even in the playoffs, so derive a format that can award spots objectively and recognize that everyone then has A path.

The SOS argument is so one-sided… Team A ▪️$40-70M/year in TV revenue ▪️$30–35M NIL roster ▪️Goes 9-3 against programs in same financial ballpark Team B ▪️ Roughly $2M/year in TV revenue ▪️$300K–1M NIL roster ▪️ Goes 12-1 against teams in same financial ballpark, wins its conference (with possibly a win or two against teams in Team A’s financial ballpark) Both are FBS programs. Team A’s conference champion gets an automatic CFP bid no matter the record. Team B has to beat out five other conferences for a single automatic bid. So why should Team A automatically deserve a spot over Team B? And don’t answer with, “Team B wouldn’t be 12-1 with Team A’s schedule” Because Team A probably wouldn’t be 9-3 if it had to play its schedule with Team B’s budget and resources. Resources will never be equal, but Access can (and should) be 💯
