This is happening in the UK, possibly in Europe. I am not sure what the threshold, or trigger, is but while in the old days you had to give the bank notice of a large cash withdrawal, so they could have the cash ready for you, they are increasingly interested in why.
I think this is driven by the government looking for money launderers, or just wanting to make sure they're not missing out on those tax £s. It is disgusting.

My friend tried to withdraw £20k from his high street bank & their response was shocking
For 30 years he’s has been a loyal customer of this major bank
He called to withdraw the money & they said no, you have to come into the branch
He went into the branch & asked asked to withdraw the £20k and they asked 'what it’s for'?
He said ’none of your business, it’s my money’
They said ‘unless you can tell us exactly what the money is for, you cannot withdraw it'
This should shock & terrify you, because your own money isn’t even yours anymore

Trump is utterly disgusting. Surely we cannot be far from the time when King Charles refuses to be involved in Trump’s attempts to use a significant 🇺🇸 anniversary for his own ends. Just take today - for a US President to say “I’m glad he’s dead” of a man who has devoted his life to public service is beyond vile. And his endorsement of Orban (farewell any notion of not interfering in other countries’ politics) puts him in the Putin camp once more, furthering the risk to Ukraine. Add in the endless insults of @Keir_Starmer and I really think the time has come for the 👑 to follow the Pope in being otherwise engaged .

The Navy has two aircraft carriers. One has been out of action for 458 days. The other, 92 days.
Type 45 destroyers only one is currently serviceable.

NEW: Donald Trump has said that Keir Starmer took “far too long” to allow US to use UK bases to carry out strikes on Iran.
UK initially denied US permission to conduct strikes aimed at regime change from bases incl Diego Garcia and RAF Fairford, citing international law.

Following our investigation, signs have now gone up in the local hospital canteen making it clear that the meat on offer is no longer halal.
Feeding my constituents halal meat without their knowledge in their hospital is disgusting.
