The first time a construction worker catcalled me I was 19 and confused so I was friendly in response bc I didn't want to be rude. he was like 50. We started exchanging niceties every morning. Then one day he asked me on a date and I panicked and told him I was 15.

Okay imagine a Doctor Who episode where the Doctor and their companion go back to the Titanic The companion wants to save the passengers, but the Doctor refuses because it would create a paradox and destroy history It turns into a huge moral argument, ending with them

@aakashgupta Nintendo never really competed on graphics. They often used older, cheaper technology instead. Because Nintendo was originally a toy company, not an electronics company. They optimized for play experience, not hardware specs.

Sony sells the PS5 below cost. Microsoft sells the Xbox below cost. Nintendo is the only company that ever sold console hardware profitably, and they did it by refusing to compete on graphics. Apple has never deliberately sold hardware at a loss since 1997. That's why this console doesn't exist. Apple has tried gaming hardware three times. The 1996 Pippin sold 42,000 units out of the 100,000 manufactured and pushed Bandai to write off ¥26.8 billion. The 2015 Apple TV was pitched with gaming as a flagship use case and never landed a single AAA exclusive. Apple Arcade launched in 2019 with a $500M content budget and has refused to disclose subscriber numbers for six years running. When a public company quietly drops a metric, the metric is the answer. Now run the console math. Sony's gaming division operates at a 6% margin. Apple runs at 30% company-wide. Insomniac spent $300M building a single Spider-Man game. The average Apple Arcade title was funded at roughly $5M. Console exclusivity contracts run 3 to 5 years. Apple has never signed one. The hardware cycle kills the concept on its own. A console is a 10-year commitment at fixed specs. Apple replaces flagship chips every 12 months. PS5 launched in November 2020 and is still the current-gen machine in May 2026. Apple has shipped five M-series generations in the same window. Apple already runs the most profitable gaming business on earth and has zero reason to package it as a console. iPhone gaming spending exceeds the entire console software market. The Mac mini with M-series silicon outperforms a PS5 Pro at the same price. The hardware exists. Putting "console" on the box forces Apple into the loss-leader model they've refused for 28 years. The mock-up is beautiful. The economics are why it stays a mock-up.

What if Apple made a gaming console?

@SatireStation @ManaByte Have you considered the issues with Mandalorian and Grogu have to do with the Mandalorian and (emphasis on this part maybe) Grogu rather than a movie from nine years ago? That maybe nobody is excited about an extended episode of a TV show whose third season took a nosedive?

@robotclay @ManaByte As the final movie of the main trilogy at the height of the box office, pre Covid. Captain Marvel, Aquaman, and a Joker movie made a billion dollars. It should have made more than TLJ, not less. Compare that to Marvel’s Infinity War vs. Endgame. SW is in an awful place right now.

The "majority of fans hate TLJ" narrative is one of the biggest myths on the Internet. If you look at the Rotten Tomatoes audience score, it looks like a disaster. But to understand why, you have to look at how RT used to work versus how it works now. When The Last Jedi released in 2017, RT didn't require Verified Audience scores. Anyone with an email address (or a bot script) could leave a review without proving they’d even seen the movie. After the massive review bombing of TLJ and Captain Marvel in 2019, RT finally realized their system was broken. They officially changed their policy to prioritize "Verified Ratings" (linked to Fandango ticket purchases) to stop bad actors from skewing the data. Unlike the open RT poll, CinemaScore (which polls real people exiting theaters) gave it an "A". PostTrak gave it 5/5 stars. These are verified, scientific samples, not an internet free-for-all. Hated movies don't make $1.3 billion. People don't keep buying tickets for a movie they actually despise. Disliking the movie is fine! But citing a rigged, unverified RT score from 2017 as proof that "everyone" hates it? That's just bad fan fiction.

@ManaByte Its a bad Star Wars film thats about it. I dunno why its so hard to comprehend the majority of the fandom dislike it its not the end of the world

@zajako_ The Southerners called the US Army "Yanks/Yankees" in the civil war, and European observers, including our newspapers, picked up on that. So Europeans adopted the name, for the same US Army, in later wars. Makes perfect sense from this side of the Atlantic.

It’s always hilarious to me when Europeans call a Southerner “Yank” with a straight face I feel like the equivalent of this would be like an American calling someone from Ireland a “Brit” because “technically they live in the British Isles” or some other lame excuse

@ManaByte Your entire premise is proven incorrect by The Marvels and now The Mandalorian and Grogu. TLJ and Captain Marvel made the money they did b/c of what came before them. The Marvels showed the actual positive skewing of Captain Marvel, and now Mandalorian and Grogu.

something, it's rude to say "yes"; you should say "no thanks" even if you want the said thing. So like, nobody gets what they want in the end???? And how long will it continue??????

Neurotypical people's rules are so contradictory it's confusing. I remember my sister was teaching me etiquette and apparently: - If you offer someone something and they say "no thanks," you should insist until they say "yes." But also... - If someone asks you if you want-

@marysunfan94 @SpencerTracyFan Also, why is the Fugitive Doctor's TARDIS disguised as a police box? If she is pre- First Doctor that makes no sense. It's not the same TARDIS right?

@SpencerTracyFan Let me think through this.. the idea is that the whole memory gets wiped when she becomes Hartnell at some point right ? I mean the other problem is .. why would she be the doctor ? Is the idea that this is her destiny with every regeneration because 13 showed it’s not ..

@Carverl_ @AvatarKyber The white control room with the hexagonal central console and the "round things" (to quote Eleven) on the walls is a clear callback to the classic era, which is fitting considering other classic references like Susan, Sutehk, and the Toymaker.

@AvatarKyber 15's is frustrating cause it could so easily look great, the neon lighting when used help make the space feel more alive and if there was furniture added to fill the space it'd make it so much less sterile

@bobbbbbbbb234 @BenisKen Nat 1's don't mean that though. They don't automatically fail any more than nat 20's automatically succeed. And if they do fail, there is no further consequence (unless you homebrew stupid crit fail table bullshit).

@BenisKen I feel like natural 20’s are just not agreed upon on what it’s suppose to represent. Unlike nat 1’s. Like nat 1’s are “the absolute worse possible version of the events that you wanted to happen, and fuck it your leg breaks because why not” -
