Last month, Mexican Navy (Marina) sailors aboard the Reformador-class frigate ARM Benito Juárez (POLA 101) conducted a subject matter expert exchange with the visit, board, search, and seizure (VBSS) team aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Gridley (DDG 101) in the Pacific Ocean. As part of Southern Seas 2026, the USS Gridley also conducted a passing exercise with @SEMAR_mx's ARM Benito Juárez during a Mexico-U.S. bilateral maritime engagement. Southern Seas 2026 aims to enhance capabilities, improve interoperability, and strengthen maritime partnerships. This engagement highlights the decades-long partnership between the U.S. and Mexico, built on trust, mutual benefit, and respect for sovereignty. A lot of noise out there, but the facts don’t change: a unified, government-wide effort ended catch and release. For over 11 months, USBP has not released a single illegal alien arrested at entry. BP stations are nearly empty. The results speak for themselves.

It is literally impossible to have absolute zero releases. Everybody in the immigration enforcement system knows we don’t have enough bedspace and the infrastructure to hold them all. The Washington examiner already reported that this was false information. This administration is doing historic and record work on immigration… Why do we feel the need to lie?

According to a memo that OMB sent to Congress, it appears the White House plans to take “additional executive action” to pay civilian support employees at ICE & CBP via the OBBB since they aren’t being paid now and won’t be paid through appropriations because the Senate DHS bill Republicans are agreeing to provides no funding for ICE & CBP. It appears the WH intends to get those support employees paid via OBBB so they don’t want to wait until June for a reconciliation bill. They haven’t been paid since mid February.
