🛣️The roads at Shivsrushti Marg in Kurla (East), Shrimad Rajchandra Gyanmandir Marg and Vidyabhavan Marg in Ghatkopar (East) and Sanghani Estate Marg in Ghatkopar (West), where cement concretisation works are in progress, were inspected by Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects) Shri Abhijit Bangar, late in the night on 29th April 2025. 🔹During the inspection, Shri Bangar directed that at locations where the cement concrete works have been completed, the remaining finishing works such as application of thermoplastic paint, installation of cat eyes, directional signboards, traffic safety signages and junction grids must be completed on priority. This would help in ensuring smooth traffic movement and contribute towards the beautification of the area. 🔹He further instructed that silicone sealant should be used in place of bitumen for filling expansion joints post-concretisation, to ensure durability and better performance. 🔹Shri Bangar also highlighted the importance of adopting the Ultra-Thin White Topping (UTWT) method wherever feasible, in addition to the conventional concrete paving. He observed that when comparing the time and cost involved in both techniques, a larger number of roads could be developed using the white topping method, thereby enhancing efficiency & longevity. 🔹During the site visit, slump tests and cone tests were conducted on-site and the results were found to be satisfactory. 🔹The visit was attended by Assistant Professor Shri Solomon Debbarma from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mumbai, Deputy Chief Engineer (Roads) (Eastern Suburbs) Shri Sanjay Sonawane and representatives from the Quality Control Agency. #MyBMCUpdates @CMOMaharashtra @mieknathshinde @AjitPawarSpeaks @ShelarAshish @MPLodha @iitbombay
