@chinnychick @ScotAirAmb Sorry to hear about your Dad: Wishing him a speedy recovery. @ScotAirAmb are awesome.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to the crew of the @ScotAirAmb last night for flying out to Arran to collect my dad after he suffered a stroke yesterday. They safely got him across the water to the mainland. A long day for this crew no doubt, yet they came for him. I hope this tweet makes it back to them. As a fellow helicopter crew gal, I hope you know how much what you do matters to people. 🙏🫶 dad is talking now, but a long road ahead 😔😢

@BloodyPolitics @GPAPassenger Watched one abort a landing in atrocious weather at Windy Wellington many years ago. We’d just landed in a tiny (by comparison) twin prop Metroliner air ambulance.

@AmyJStu Beautiful stretch of road between them: Benderloch, Appin, Port Appin, Castle Stalker, Lismore, The Linnhe Storehouse & Cafe, Bunree, Corran Ferry (gateway to Strontian and the best route to Mull).

I’ve lived in Scotland for over 30 years and there’s so much of it I haven’t seen. Oban and Fort William are definitely on my list for the near future.

Glencoe, the majestic scottish valley. You can choose to go to Oban in the south or to Fort William further north.

The one on the right is my van.
The one on the left sits higher than my van, weighs more than my van, has less storage space than a VW Golf, weighs around 1000kgs more than a Golf and almost 700kgs more than our own EV.
With the high risk of these burning down an airport carpark in Luton, their horrific emissions, reliability, fuel economy and weight, it’s a wonder why people buy them.

@theiaincameron Love these posts: who’d have thought the Tummel original would be so close to the West Coast.

@ApoStructura The whole point is that triage IS discriminating (not perfectly but on the whole mostly very good): It literally means to sieve. So that those with the most emergent issue are seen most quickly (again, doesn’t work perfectly, but we try).
English

> call nhs hotline “I think I might have broken my ankle I need an X-ray to check”
“go to Urgent care”
>go
“you need to register for triage”
>register, wait 1h20
“You need to go to UC”
>go, wait 30m
“You need an X-ray”
>go, wait 15m. X-ray takes 45 sec
“You need to see the doctor
>wait 10m
“Not broken but bruised, was worth checking, you can go home”
In a less retarded system this whole thing would have been over in 25m. This indiscriminate triage setup is a big waste of everyone’s time, including hospital personnel!

@nypost What a tragedy but there is so much misinformation in these comments: 50m depth is 6x atmospheric pressure; breathing air at 50m = a partial pressure of O2 of 1.26 bar which is within safety limits for SCUBA diving etc. etc.

The coming days align with 2009.
17 yr ago, Bank Hol Monday was the last time my wee boy was knowingly ok.
He was then born asleep on Wednesday 6th. He would have been 17 this coming week.
I'm not a photographer, but my camera has been my friend.
Thank you for listening 💙
