@big_duca I built fiscal-fox.com for UK taxes. I have found AI is great for normalising data across multiple broker files but when it comes to the actual calculations its far better to rely on deterministic code that has all the rules written in. A hybrid approach works great

I am not a CPA. But I really don’t think Claude is replacing them anytime soon. Claude ain’t putting its name on your tax return saying “looks good”. If you want to self file, TurboTax is already super cheap. You pay a CPA for reassurance and bc their name and license number is signed on your tax submission.

@big_duca One way I see tax tools getting users to log in more regularly is if the tool becomes a good way to also track their portfolio too. If you logging in monthly to sync your transactions and see your overall balance you catch issues quicker

Is there any product category that a user won't touch the entire year. But then when they do open it. They expect it to work absolutely perfectly? Most products are able to iterate constantly with a user base to improve. Tax products do not get this luxury, and it hurts bad.

Have Claude Code (or any other agent) walk you through setting up the PostHog MCP. This lets Claude Code fetch your data directly from PostHog. Now you can ask Claude Code to analyse your data and suggest what improvements to make — then build them. Bonus: If you find PostHog's dashboard layout confusing, just ask Claude Code to build a custom one for you.
