@brian_armstrong This is a hill to die on. Debanking and Lawfare are fundamentally unamerican and evil. This must end completely, be completely eliminated, or tyranny will ensue at some point. It doesn’t matter if it’s your friend or enemy. Lawfare and debanking are evil.

Can confirm this is true. It was one of the most unethical and un-American things that happened in the Biden administration, and my guess is we'll find Elizabeth Warren's fingerprints all over it (Biden himself was probably unaware). We're still collecting documents via FOIA requests, so hopefully the full story emerges of who was involved and whether they broke any laws. Warren and Gensler tried to unlawfully kill our entire industry, and it was a major factor in the Dems losing the election. The Democratic party should realize Warren is a liability and further distance themselves if they want to have any hope of rebuilding.

Did you know that 30 tech founders were secretly debanked?

@rsg Curious why you trust the data in FL but not CA?

Gosh, I guess my take on it is complicated I generally hold a lot of skepticism around sociological studies The methodology & exact lines of questioning matter a lot And I imagine a lot of homeless folks would point to housing affordability as the proximate cause of their homelessness rather than more difficult admissions like addiction Housing prices clearly play some role. I just find it incredibly hypocritical that many "homeless advocates" are also very anti-development All that said, housing prices here in South Florida are skyrocketing at a time where homelessness is actually decreasing here in Miami It's hard to draw a correlation without taking into account the incentives that California offers

There's always been a "wink wink, nudge nudge" aspect in moving away from California: Taxes Frankly, folks should be proud to deprive CA of tax dollars When it comes to homelessness, addiction, crime & housing affordability: every dollar CA spends seems to make problems worse

@rsg Agree ppl interested in solving homelessness should be development advocates, which is what authors of this study are for. They quantify size of problems around housing prices, drugs, "incentives," etc. precisely to have an informed discussion, which has been lacking.

Love this brand refresh (see if you can spot the clever product demos built into the marketing/brand design).

It's a whole new @MuxHQ! We've been working on this brand in the shadows for the past year or so, and it's been incredibly fun to work with this team and make something we're all super proud of.

There is some light at the end of the tunnel today! We're making progress cleaning up Interstate 80 now that the snow has finally stopped falling. The highway remains closed but should reopen sometime this afternoon. Stay tuned. @CHP_Truckee @CHPAuburn

@benblumenrose Lincoln in the Bardo by Saunders was magical and wonderful; Outline by Rachel Cusk was full of human mystery and intellect; The Topeka School by Ben Lerner was the most brilliant book I’ve read in a long time.

What do company logos, branding overall, websites and apps, the modern built environment, pop music and movies have all in common? A design ideology that focuses on appealing to everyone (or rather not annoying anyone) while being efficient. creatived.substack.com/p/visualizing-…

@domesticetch So annoying! I don’t get why people don’t think giving credit matters, even as a social contract. “Take it as a compliment” is such an easy dodge. I just published my first AIGA op-ed and curious to see if this happens next!

Would really love for people to stop making tweet threads about design trends that are 100% sourced (example images + exact text captions) from my AIGA articles without crediting me 🤠
