Heartfelt Congratulations to the brand new DGP @cvanand Wishing you a successful and people-centric tenure. One humble request, At Petbasheerabad Police Station, the traffic signal in front of Gandhi Statue was removed, and the constables who used to manage the junction have also been withdrawn for the past 6 months. This busy stretch has now become extremely dangerous. Crossing the road has turned into a nightmare for school children, college students, employees, senior citizens, and women. Several accidents have already been reported. Kindly consider restoring the traffic signal or posting at least a couple of constables / home guards at the junction to ensure public safety. DAY 488 STATE HAS DELIVERED. CENTRE MUST DECIDE. A historic step has now been completed. The Government of Telangana has taken full control of Hyderabad Metro Phase-I by acquiring 100% equity of LTMRHL. An amount of ₹1,461 crore has been paid, and a massive debt of over ₹13,500 crore has been taken over and refinanced. This is not a routine administrative move it is a bold and decisive commitment to secure the future of Hyderabad’s urban mobility. For years, the Centre repeatedly pointed to Phase-I issues ownership clarity, financial stability, and long-term viability as reasons for delaying further expansion. Today, all those concerns have been addressed. The State has stepped forward, taken full responsibility, and removed every major bottleneck that stood in the way of future Metro growth. Dear Prime Minister @narendramodi, with Phase-I now fully under state government control, the path for expansion is completely clear. This transition is not just about ownership it is about enabling seamless integration, faster execution, and a stronger, unified Metro network for Hyderabad. So the question now is straightforward what is stopping Hyderabad Metro Phase-II? Phase-II is not at a planning stage. It is a fully prepared project with a 162.5 km network and an estimated cost of ₹43,848 crore. Detailed Project Reports have already been submitted, State Cabinet approvals have been granted, and funds have been allocated. Every requirement that was expected has been fulfilled. Yet, despite this complete readiness, there is still no approval from the Centre. No final sanction, no defined timeline, and no visible urgency. This is no longer a technical delay this is a decision that is pending without justification. Meanwhile, Hyderabad is under immense and growing pressure. More than 90 lakh vehicles are already on the roads, with over 1,500 new vehicles being added every single day. Citizens are losing 3–4 hours daily in traffic congestion. Fuel is wasted, pollution is rising, productivity is falling, and quality of life is deteriorating. This is not just a traffic problem this is a large-scale economic and social loss. A city that contributes over ₹1 lakh crore annually in taxes to the Centre, and drives national growth in IT, pharma, aerospace, and innovation, cannot be left waiting endlessly for critical infrastructure. The State has done its part decisively and responsibly. The responsibility now lies with the Centre to act without further delay. Continued inaction at this stage sends a wrong signal to a city that is ready, capable, and contributing significantly to the nation. No more queries. No more linking. No more delay. Approve Hyderabad Metro Phase-II immediately. Because when a State has delivered and a city is ready, the Centre must act — without hesitation. Sampath Reddy, has welcomed the landmark taking over of the 100% equity of L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited (LTMRHL) through Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) as insisted by Union Govt. He stated that the State Government has acted in line with the expectations of the Central Government, and this decisive move is a crucial step towards strengthening and expanding Hyderabad’s metro network. Given that the project has already faced significant delays, this transition is expected to facilitate smoother execution of future phases. However, Sampath Reddy expressed serious concern that despite this major step, the proposals for Hyderabad Metro Phase-II are still pending with the Government of India. On behalf of Medchal Metro Sadhana Samithi, he strongly demanded that the Government of India (GOI) immediately approve the Hyderabad Metro Phase-II proposals without raising further queries or delays. He further urged Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy to take up the matter on priority and ensure that it is placed on the agenda of the upcoming Union Cabinet and approved without any further delay. Sampath Reddy also appealed to all Members of Parliament from Telangana to actively pursue the matter with the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and ensure that this dream project of Hyderabad receives immediate clearance.
