A thank you to the gent who ran to help as I was rolling around on the floor with someone I had arrested. Lots of people watched, some walked past as if nothing was happening. One person stepped up and helped. Thank you, sir! One in for domestic related assault #Police #Exeter

@AWilsonmhealth That’s not a nice experience. Had something similar a few years and surprisingly TRIM helped me a lot. I still think about whenever I go down South Street 😑

@sc75300 That's excellent work by the m.o.p! I had about 8 months in when I was assaulted in broad daylight, Saturday afternoon, by a bus stop. Taking a real kicking while those on a bus gawped or laughed at me. Made me think about the police/ public relationship for a good while

@sc75300 @Brick_Cop @metpoliceuk @MPSRTPC Working full time with shifts whilst doing a degree isn’t much fun either though, is it. Doesn’t allow for much of a life!

Ok so why’s it important my colleague stopped this bike? 👀 So first off let’s remind everyone that a lot of the police officers in the UK can’t drive on lights and sirens. 😱 They can’t?! 🤯 No. And for very good reason. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Most Police Officers will wait between 3-5 years before they are given the opportunity to complete a ‘Standard Response Course.’ 🚔 This course lasts three weeks and teaches the skills required to drive to an emergency quickly, but most importantly safely. We have a phrase as emergency, response drivers “Drive To Arrive.” 💯 Ok so what’s that got to do with this video? 🙃 A lot actually. This ‘solo’ or Police Motorcyclist has passed a number of courses to be at this stage in their career. They will be: Standard Response Car ✅ Initial Phase Pursuit Trained ✅ Advanced Car Trained ✅ Pursuit Trained ✅ Tactical Pursuit and Containment Trained ✅ Response Bike Trained ✅ Bike Pursuit Trained ✅ Why so many courses? Because to be brutally honest, legally we are not protected as Police drivers, as soon as an injury is attributed to a Police vehicle the driver can face years of investigation. 🤦🏼‍♂️ So why did the Police Motorcyclist put his career on the line in this clip? 🤔 To protect the public and recover stolen property. 👏 As soon as the suspect vehicle has failed to stop this officer will have been in constant contact with a pursuit commander to utilise the best tactics possible to achieve a safe resolution to the pursuit. 💯 Safety doesn’t just include those in the pursuit it includes the public too. So if it’s deemed a pursuit most come to an end because the pursuit is endangering the public, tactical contact can and will be used. 👀 Highly trained and dedicated to keeping our roads safe, we are very lucky to have our 🐀 colleagues! Thank you @MPSRTPC and I don’t doubt the suspect will be located soon! 🕵🏻 #ThinBlueLine 🚨

@suetthatsme @Brick_Cop @metpoliceuk @MPSRTPC I used to think that… then I realised that learning the job, the degree, the probation period and so on is simply too much to take in *and* then do a three week course for blues. The course left me exhausted at the end of every day, having to unlearn years of habits.

@Brick_Cop @metpoliceuk @MPSRTPC I still don’t understand why blue light training isn’t incorporated into initial training, along with taser training too. Be much more beneficial than all this degree route stuff!

Last night time economy shift, was walking down SIDWELL STREET, and ended up next to a Mum and three young kids. Cue, “if you’re naughty…” My response, “want to try my pointy hat on?” Photographs and smiles. A nice break from the drunks! #Police #Exeter #GoodVibesOnly
