@mattyrendell @Stinger22710991 @FOXFOOTY He was highly rated due to them projecting he’d play midfield with his athletic traits but clearly hasn’t worked out that way and it just looks underwhelming that they drafted pick one on a back pocket player

I’d love to note if any of the high handball running sides that have burst out of the blocks in March and see if they don’t come to a grinding halt in May/June it’s like an F1 track out here in the AFL
The Prendercast II: Secret of the Blues@The_PrenderCast

@hell4u02 No doubt. The game has become more aerobically demanding than ever before, which is an incredibly and impossibly high level to maintain for 25-odd weeks. Things will level out as we go along, but in the early going it’s almost a different sport.

Undermanned Lions, 0-2 but at this stage not alarm bells for me, get a few of our best players back against the Saints and hopefully get back even 2-2 #AFLSwansLions

@butters_jon @FlightPlanPod Yes we are seeing a shift away from clubs drafting pure inside mids in premium selections à la Hobbs and Tsatas. Perkins I’ll hold my hands up even though that 2020 covid draft is going down as one of the worst drafts we’ve seen

Tonight is a timely reminder of why nailing round picks is so important. Ben Hobbs (pick 13) got delisted while Elijah Tsatas (pick 5) looks to be going down the same path. Both lads should be approaching 100 games and influencing the outcome of matches. Disastrous drafting

@butters_jon @FlightPlanPod Drafting key position/small fwd players are risky because you can’t shuffle these players anywhere else if they go bust, that’s why the make up of most first round picks are midfielders, half backs, half fwd types

@FlightPlanPod Can i ask why do Essendon draft so many small mids? And then they just get pushed out of position and play mid/fwd too? Why don't they draft more key position / small fwd players tec

The stat sheet looked good, but this was basically the year he stopped being the Ronaldo who could run an attack on his own, the difference in his dribbling mechanics and overall flexibility even compared to 12/13 is night and day

The most concerning stat for Carlton has to be their inability to get field position despite winning contest. They’re the only team this year to win contested possessions and lose the inside 50 battle (relatively small sample size I know) but I think it points to a critical lack of ability to turn their contests into genuine scoreboard pressure. We saw it last week, +21 contest at half time, and only up by 10 (2 goals coming from dropped chest mark in Sydney’s D50). That’s not a sustainable model of footy and could very well be a reason they fade out in second halves. #AFL

Oh no, the people who hate women didn’t think you were different than all the other girls like you said?
New York Magazine@NYMag

In the Trump era, many young women were attracted to the New Right because it felt less constrained, stuffy, and dogmatic than the left. Perhaps it was. A little sexism was a small price to pay for entry to a party without Woke-scolds policing the playlist. For women especially, contempt for feminist pieties, if deftly channeled, could be one’s ticket to stardom. Now, a growing group of right-wing women — both prominent personalities and loyal foot soldiers — are waking up to find that their inclusion in the MAGA movement was contingent: Sexism wasn’t merely the price of entry; it was the theme of the party. According to the conservative women @SamAdlerBell has spoken to over the past several months — all at one point active in MAGA, some active still — anxiety and disgust over sexism has been steadily growing since the beginning of Trump’s second term. It’s spiked since last fall, they say, when the movement began openly embracing Nick Fuentes, whose visceral hatred of women makes the male chauvinists of the past seem enlightened. “These men have made it very, very clear that they will ‘rape, kill, and die’ for Nick Fuentes,” Anna, who wrote for popular right-wing outlets, says. MAGA is “insisting that women subject themselves entirely to male authority, while advertising that male authority will be cruel and vicious and fickle.” Some of the right-wing women Adler-Bell spoke to feel a certain amount of regret over her complicity. “Shame and guilt and just embarrassment,” Anna says, “Just like how could I tolerate this and participate in this?” Adler-Bell reports on the women defecting from the New Right over its sexism: nymag.visitlink.me/7Gba1-

I need answers, What is actually wrong with Carlton in the second halves, is it fitness, is it system, is it loss of focus, what happens at half time to where they come out and look like a shell of their first half #AFL

@SunnyComb000 @ThomTommyTomtom @ParrottDarryl @Jousting_Sticks GC and GWS especially face big time retention issues as the overwhelming majority of their lists are all interstate players who all could requests trades to go home that’s why they get academies to nurture home grown talent where there is no Coates talent league to bring them up
