Hey, Family! New week, new goals! Let's carry a crucial mission forward: building a healthier and truly Period-Friendly world, together. This isn't just about changing policies, it's about changing hearts and minds. It starts with small, consistent actions every single day. Why Does a "Period-Friendly" World Matter? A period-friendly world is one where: 1. We talk about menstruation openly and honestly, treating it as a normal biological process not a secret, a shame or a punchline. 2. Everyone has equitable access to safe, affordable and sustainable menstrual products and adequate sanitation facilities. 3. Everyone, regardless of gender, receives accurate and unbiased education about the menstrual cycle, body literacy and reproductive health. 4. Support is Standard such as Employers, schools and communities normalize accommodating needs related to painful periods, PMS or PMDD. Our Mission This Week (and Beyond): We don't have to launch a global campaign to make a difference. Here are three simple, powerful actions you can take this week to contribute to this goal: 1. Check In with a Friend: If you know someone is on their period, offer a genuine, non-judgmental "How are you really feeling?" or offer to grab them a pad or chocolate or a cup of coffee and pray with them because pain isn't their portion. 2. Practice Period-Positive language that normalizes the experience. 3. Learn something new for example spend 5-10 minutes reading about the differences between PMDD and PMS, or research a sustainable product like a menstrual cup or reusable pads. Let’s step into this week with kindness, courage and a commitment to making the world a little easier for people who bleed. Every conversation, every act of support and every moment of breaking the silence is a brick in the foundation of a better future. What is ONE thing you plan to do this week to support menstrual health or fight period stigma? Let me know in the comments! 👇 PS: My name is Jovia Kusiima a Menstrual Justice Educator who is passionate about Building a Healthier and Period Friendly World, Together! @doraforchrist @aloysiusnsubug1 @Makana_Kennedy @CurtisIvan4 @CounselAllanVic @joatukunda @JoyceMeyer @EnanR_
