BREAKING: ASSB may come earlier Today, I accidentally received news that BYD's 400Wh/kg SSB has passed the vehicle level certification. So I also checked the progress of CATL's solid-state batteries. It was found that CATL's 500Wh/kg ASSB has also recently passed the automotive grade certification of China Automotive Research Institute. Based on the upcoming launch event of CATL's heavyweight battery technology in Beijing on April 21st, CaishenRoad has reason to believe that CATL will release this ASSB. It's incredible that CATL' high specific energy battery is actually an ASSB, which is even more radical than what I predicted a few days ago. We had an excellent conversation on various aspects of the upcoming elections. I asked @AstroSharmistha Ji if there is a chance for Farmers to vent their anger in TN 2026 elections. Her reply was that after June 2026 there would be several initiatives by the new government to promote Agriculture & Cattle sector. She gave astrological reasons for the same. On top of that when I asked if there is a chance for a change of CM in 2026 she replied by saying that way back in the end of 2024 & beginning of 2025 she had tweeted saying that this would be MK Stalin’s final tenure as CM. I then told her that during that time DMK had a robust alliance while AIADMK was standing like a lone tree. She then further explained that when destiny has chosen its path events happen to facilitate that. Excellent discussion.

Wrong Comparison! Punch Petrol vs Punch EV Bro, you are getting 1.5 Petrol Turbocharged with DCT Automatic like performance in Punch EV so please don’t simply compare it with Punch 1.2 AMT which is painfully slow. Variant to variant diff is hardly 1 to 1.5 lakh with EV not attracting any registration cost. You talking about resale? You will save around 15 lakh on fuel if you will drive 1500 km per month for 10 years by charging mostly at home. 300+ km real time range in 40 kWh is sweet! Same for other budget EVs under 20 lakh! 70:30 use? 1200+ km monthly running? Parking space at home to install a fast charger? Please do consider an EV too along with ICE for performance and dirt cheap running. Note: Not a paid post but a very common question regarding entry level EVs, so answered as a self note to share. What’s wrong with Airtel. The worst services i have ever seen , been using the post paid for more than a decade. Signal being abysmally slow. Chennai to thirunelveli was horrible. Having returned , even in Chennai it’s bad.

My post on EVs today morning got a fair bit of engagement, and that is a good thing. But a couple folks were attacking NMC chemistry saying how it will get 'fried' in Indian conditions. Not at all, it comes down to thermal management and how good (or bad) the cooling systems are. I've driven enough NMC vehicles for months on end (IONIQ5, iX50, Clavis EV) and had no problems whatsoever. Advancements in LFP technology driven by BYD and CATL are amazing but it isn't as if LFP doesn't have its issues - it is notoriously hard to recycle currently, although advancements are being made. The biggest advancement in LFP though has been how prices have tumbled. While I don't see tis as a Petrol v. Diesel thing, I do believe both chemistries will have their applications and newer chemsitries such as Sodium-Ion will emerge. Na-Ion will work on heavy applications and BESS.

Looks like Tesla is adding Sunwoda as its 4th external battery supplier. Likely for LFP chemistry. It can drive lower pricing from a 2nd tier supplier like Sunwoda & still access China's 3rd Gen LFP cathode tech. Sunwoda will provide 3C to 5C battery cells to Tesla. Tesla will do its own PACK and BMS as usual.

A bad move has now become reality in Karnataka. New EVs to attract road tax now. Shouldn't have been done for below ₹25L segment for few more years. It has started to gain traction recently. Less than ₹10L - 5% ₹10L-₹25L - 8% Over ₹25L - 10% + Some cess Kind of increases sales value of older EVs tho (within state of karnataka).

After having saved a small fortune by running a CNG car for about 10 days, today I’ve decided to indulge in some debauchery today and take out my trusty #Ford ECOSPORT for a spin. No N-Line turbo shurbo can come close to the sublime handling and sheer happiness that the ECOSPORT delivers. The only cars that come close are the new #SkodaKylaq & the #KiaSonet in diesel automatic. Baaki my comments are open and I have a relatively free day ahead to argue and debate with one and all. 😼😼

@throttleandtech it’s the turbo lag below 15kph that bothers me - it loses a couple of seconds off the line while launching. apart from that, it’s a fine, punchy motor paired with a pretty good shifting transmission.
