As a parent, I would have done the same thing. As a son, I learned I have to be “sneaky” to help my parents financially. Don’t send money; instead, learn what the money is for and buy that instead: food, an appliance repair, etc.. It’s not (entirely) that parents are proud; I often feel like the giving (especially anything financial related) should flow in a specific direction only. Gifts are somehow different.

I don't understand my mother man. She tells me that money's been a bit tight back home. I send some to her. She sends me all that back with 1 rupee extra, and says that things are okay. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?!?!

Besides opus 4.8 and gpt 5.5 are people using other models which are cheaper to run, and gets good enough output to do your work. Because for some reason I can’t leave sonnet or opus models now.

the sad thing about india is that all the boomer entrepreneurs are hardcore supporters of not building a sovereign model but of building infrastructure around these models (haha, sure), because that pockets you the money much more easily - unless anthropic comes and kicks you and says, "we are not going to let anyone use this model." sure you want 1.4 billion people remain a consumer economy because you can smell the money & not the ambition of the country. having almost no r&d expenditure while earning $3b in net profits from a single company makes your country weak, not strong. i hope a new generation of big entrepreneurs will risk it all just for the love of the game.
