@NolanAnalyst Even at the time of release it just looked and felt flat to me. (the DC is better w the updated color saturation) Even the score feels uninspiring. I can understand Nolan not wanting to go the traditional route w Odyssey (though I disagree w a few decisions)

Just saw Troy. Incredible sets and costumes, battles with a scale and grandeur rarely seen in Hollywood, but sadly the film lacks cinema. Everything is well executed, yet everything stays classic and generic. Directing, cinematography, script, editing, none of it is truly transcendent or carries an auteur signature. It feels way too much like a studio assignment. A good movie, but without the soul of an auteur to elevate it into a masterpiece, the way Gladiator and The Odyssey are.

@DLoesch Absolutely worth seeing! It's a work of art (with some flaws) and if you're a Nolan fan it fits right in with the rest of his filmography. Anyone still pushing the woke narrative isn't to be taken seriously.

I’m hearing conflicting things about The Odyssey. I don’t have the attention span for woke trash. But is it actually woke trash? Or is it worth seeing? Feedback preferably from those who’ve actually seen it, please!

My 5 go-to “QUICK but still healthy” options: 1. Tall stack of yogurts 2. Tall glass of Chocolate milk 3. Just Bare Spicy Nuggets (or similar) 4. Leanstix or Chomps 5. Protein Smoothie (Milk, Banana, Berries, Protein Powder, etc.)

@GiteshPandya We don't know what Amazons measurements for success are, they may wait to look at the streaming numbers. Also I read their films are not expected to cover marketing costs. (as they are with traditional studios)

Studios rolled the dice on big-budget action films based on #HeMan and #Supergirl characters hoping to attract large crowds during prime summer movie season. Each cost over $170M just to produce. But both misfired. #MastersOfTheUniverse is headed to final global #boxoffice of about $120M. And Supergirl just lifted off and is doing better, but worldwide is likely to finish under $175M. Don't hold your breath for sequels.

@Cernovich No one is telling you to condemn your friends, maybe just critique their bad ideas? That's actually what you do for people you care about, you don't affirm destructive behaviors, giving a drunk a drink.

Blowing up friendships over politics is always a no-go for me. It’s hard enough, when reach a point of relevance or notoriety, to know if you have any friends. Or only handlers and “newcomers.” Anyone telling me to condemn someone I am friends with is an enemy to me.

I'm as reflexively non-interventionist as anyone can possibly be, but Venezuela appears to be a resounding victory and one of the most brilliant military operations in American history. As an unapologetic American Chauvinist, I want America to rule over this hemisphere and exert its power for the good of our people. If some shitty little tinpot third world dictator is harming our country or interfering with our national interests, we should do exactly what Trump did to Maduro. Why not? "International law" is fake and gay. The only international law is that big and powerful countries get to do what they want. It has been that way since the dawn of civilization. It will always be that way. And we are the most powerful country on the planet. It's about time that we start acting like it.

With that Rams loss, Seattle can fall no farther than the 5 seed. If SEA wins on Saturday, LA can still grab the 5 seed if they win in week 18. Will be interesting to see how McVay approaches the game.
