Looks like the BBC Presenter story did what was intended and drove off the front page the fact Johnson failed to hand over his notebooks and phones as required by law. No doubt Murdoch will be calling in that favour very soon.

At first I was like 😮 this can't be real! But then I was like sure it can, examples like this popup everyday by teams who just focus on shipping & don't talk to their users... Yes its hard to make time/get budget for but even the smallest of touch points can make a difference🧟‍♂️

@mfloryan When I hear "resource" I first replace it with "time". "Insufficient resource" =~ "not enough time" etc. Sometimes the reframing helps to unravel the problem a little.

I have long objected the use of "resources" when talking about people. I have a T-shirt to prove it. Let's pause the objectifying aspect of the term for a moment (and yes, language matters). In any modern software organisation we actually deal with dozens of different resources

@TLRailUK Where should they be? On the windows or on the outside of the doors themselves?

@skirk Hi Simon, sorry to hear this! Just to confirm are there blue wifi logos on the doors of this service? ^Kim

@TLRailUK 4th train (today, the 08:04 Northbound from Horsham) in two days with no on-board wifi. Given the terrible Cellular blackspots on the way to London Bridge, this lack is pretty lame. Should we expect it to be this unavailable?

@TLRailUK And again today (09:33 from Gatwick Airport, car number is 401117). No wifi, and power sockets also not working in rear carriage. So including yesterday’s trip home that’s now 6th train in a row and counting. Here’s hoping for this evening on the way home!

@TLRailUK Sure, but these are newish trains that have had wifi on them every day until recently, with the odd exception. Hence why I’m asking. I get the feeling it’s broken down and nobody’s doing anything about it.

@skirk Roughly 50% of the units have WiFi - those built after TL took over and persuaded DfT to fund that and seat back tables. TL manage the service for the DfT but latter make revenue / spending decisions. Worth Tweeting carriage number, if it has the door stickers, as may be broken

On train. Sitting at table. My laptop screen just pressed up against the laptop screen of the chap opposite. I said "sorry we might..." He immediately replied "...kiss?". He is now appalled. We are sitting in silence, alone. England is good.

@AzureSupport Thanks for responding. The forum link didn’t help but we eventually found the VM (it may have been related to a migration from PAYG to CSP). Thanks for your help.

@skirk Understood, thanks for confirming this. We have found this forum here: aka.ms/f_CGHRCaUo that may help. Could you review it and let us know if it does? ^AB

@AzureSupport Hi there! I have a Windows VM we created for testing. I am connected to that VM via RDP *right now*, but it cannot be found in the Azure portal! Any ideas?

@AzureSupport Thanks for responding. I’ve tried on both different browsers and private sessions, and sadly it still doesn’t show up.

@skirk Hi there, sorry to hear this. Just to make sure this is not related to an odd caching issue, could you access the portal from a different browser and/or in a private session to see if the VM shows there? ^AB

@PapaChrisMatts As for the assertion that Cost of Delay is a “governing” rather than an “enabling” constraint, as a practitioner, I would have to disagree. Explaining myself probably requires a blog post however, and it’s 2.30am here!

@EE Hello there. Please can you let me know what’s happened to the 4G data signal on the cell in the East Croydon area? Several days in a row now, almost all data packets dropped, basically zero connectivity!
