NASA’s Artemis II livestream really makes you appreciate @SpaceX’s launch broadcasts.
Bad camera tracking, no onboard cameras, countdown timer disappeared, NASA even showed people in the crowd instead of stage separation lol. The screen also blacked out twice during the first 10 seconds of the launch.

@AnnLee28809307 @BIMBOMINDSET Yep. I often think, I was totally neglected and had to figure it all out myself starting VERY early, and now I’m supposed to be the bigger person and accept all their insanely huge flaws. Fun!
English

@BIMBOMINDSET I can't speak for everyone, but a lot of Gen X-ers had to grow up and start adulting at a very young age. After doing it for 30-40 years you just get tired and want to go back to your brief, interrupted childhood stage.

I found Mere Christianity and The Search For God, both by C.S. Lewis, to be far more moving than TCFC. Maybe it’s the calming yet authoritative British accent in the audiobook narration lol. I credit both of these with shaping my current beliefs…I was always what I called a “hopeful agnostic,” def more on the belief side than atheist side, but leaned more and more toward belief in recent years, and these two books really cemented some things for me.
English

@ZachGregor I read The Case for Christ and found it uncompelling.
What book would be more compelling.

@digitalninj_a @realPatrickJr Yep, megadose this with aspirin and fish oil and enjoy the cerebral hemorrhage.

High-dose nattokinase (10,800 FU daily) reversed arterial plaque in 95% of patients over 12 months and had zero side effects.
Statins only suppress cholesterol while causing muscle pain and liver damage.
But you'll never hear about nattokinase because it can't be patented.

Health Dialectic@healthdialectic
Heart disease is still the #1 killer in the U.S. Statins (around since the late ’80s) help lower risk, but they’re not a cure. Now, people are exploring fibrinolytic enzymes from soy, earthworms, silkworms...and they seem to work! Introducing the fibrinolytic triad: (1/13)

@DavidRo65413968 @uncledoomer @reddit_lies Yep. 48 with a 6 year old. Fuck the haters. My boy is getting a world-class education on G1 Transformers.

everybody is all like "waiting to have kids is good because youre financially situated" but the older you go, the kid gets a little weird. my parents had me at 38 and do you really want your kid growing up to be uncledoomer from twitter

I went through a period of really disliking Dawkins, but I’ve totally changed my mind recently now that I’ve realized that he’s just a super mega turbo autist on a whole new level. If you just take care of him and point him toward where his sandwich is, he’ll turn out some excellent content.

@curryjason @DawnsMission lol RYR is a statin, but totally dose-unregulated

to @thelittleidiot Moby’s criticism of our song LOLA these are the words sent to me and Ray from our dear friend trans icon @jaynecounty27 #JayneCounty. I am highly insulted that MOBY would accuse my brother of being ‘unevolved’ or transphobic in any way. theguardian.com/music/2026/mar…

@smirchfa @ReviewsPossum The "phonics is old and therefore bad" movement started long before either of the Bushes took office.
English

"Wow, phonics really works! We've achieved 99% literacy!"
"Hey, I have a new theory on how to teach reading that's completely untested and based on nothing but vibes! It's called whole language learning!"
"That's great! Fuck phonics, implement that new theory immediately!"
Coors.@SYNESTHEIZURE
teaching degrees might be more justifiable if education departments were not liable to fall for every pop psychology scam that crosses their path.

The Biden Admin literally established a “Ministry of Truth.” It was called the “Disinformation Governance Board” so as to not be too on the nose. Have you studied Soviet history? If not, I’d recommend Reflections on a Ravaged Century by Robert Conquest as a primer, then when you’re REALLY ready you can hit The Gulag Archipelago. Abridged for starters, that one should still get the point across.
English

@Cernovich " The alternate reality was gulags." Translation: I now have to resort to apocalyptic lies to justify voting for Trump. That's telling.

@Bowtiedplayer Seems like it was killed by the one-two punch of Covid and corporations deciding it was a marketing festival

True story, I have a friend in Austin who once worked in the department at the State of Texas that verified birth certificates… he told me the wildest shit, and it all seemed like (in his opinion…) that the names simply came from people looking at some chart of human biology that was on the wall of the room they were staying in when they named their child. This one backs up that claim, but from his stories, Areola was my favorite.
