Thank you, Alana Andrews and Maxel Lab, for organizing such a thoughtful gathering and creating a space where everyone could speak openly, listen with curiosity, and learn from one another. It was wonderful meeting and talking with Maria Michalczyk, Georgina Alvarez Bruno, Astrid W., Kelsey Hill, and Chandra Chouhan. #WomenInvestingInAI #ResponsibleAI #Chicago

3. The Chicago community It has been almost a year since I moved to Chicago for my MBA. This dinner gave me the opportunity to meet people across industries with very different experiences and perspectives. It made me more excited about the thoughtful work and conversations happening in Chicago. On a personal level, it gave me a stronger sense of belonging and more conviction in the community I am becoming part of, while making me feel more connected to the city I now call home.

A few weeks ago, I joined the Women Investing in AI Dinner Series in Chicago. Our conversation lasted nearly four hours, yet it felt like no time had passed. Of the many AI conferences and discussions I have attended, this was one of the most meaningful for three reasons (not to sound too much like an ex-consultant 🙂)

Monad’s airdrop might be one of the smartest we've seen As someone who has studied every major airdrop for the last few years, here are some points that stand out to me More interesting than those included is the list of exclusions: - All testnet users - Most of the farmers Out of 700k+ members on Discord and 1.2M+ followers on X, only about 5.5K wallets qualified Well under 1% So who was included? About 225K wallets from the broader crypto community, over 40x the number of eligible Monad community wallets Why aim at the larger crypto community first? There is real inertia in trying a new L1 Bridging assets, familiarizing yourself with a new ecosystem, changing habits It all has friction A token allocation helps overcome that friction for people who can move markets and norms Who are these people? Notable accounts and active DeFi users (Monad Cards holders, DeFi whales, and so forth) - These account drive mindshare - They bring liquidity - They tend to have longer time horizons - They tend to be less mercenary Monad's airdrop strategy optimizes for mindshare, liquidity, and early onchain activity that should drive early onchain activity and create a flywheel that attracts more users. Airdrop as onboarding, not exit liquidity Smart, deliberate, and one of the best executions in a long time GG @keoneHD, @intern, @akachacolate, and the rest of the goated squad
