Canada has acted honourably on the Gordie Howe Bridge since the start. Unfortunately, most of what we know about the new deal the government has struck has come from leaks or from US spinmeisters. My strong advice to our government is to give Canadians the unvarnished facts.

Capitulation Carney details: for those that don’t know what net revenue means this deal sees the US get to split what’s left after the operating costs such as bridge maintenance, staff etc are deducted but BEFORE debt is paid. Loans, bonds and interest are paid out of net revenue. So the US gets half net revenue and Canada has to pay the debt costs of building the bridge out of its half. US gets pure profit with no responsibility to pay to cost of building the bridge. Canada gets little net profit since it has to pay the billions to build the bridge out of our half. Total @MarkJCarney Trump capitulation.

The USA struck a great deal with respect to the Gordie Howe Bridge. Before this deal we got NOTHING. Now, the U.S. gets 50% of net revenues until 2041 and a say in setting the tolls. Our share is before interest and principal. This is the Art of the Deal in action.
