As President Trump says, the SAVE America Act requires photo ID and proof of citizenship to vote. Here’s the problem: only five U.S. states offer Real IDs that meet those requirements. That means, in Pennsylvania and 44 other states, you would not be allowed to vote without a passport or both a birth certificate and photo ID. This puts the ballot box behind a paywall, making our elections less free and less fair. That’s why this bill is the wrong approach.

@RepHoulahan This is not a problem. People provide this type of documentation for many other things like opening a bank account receiving social security benefits, obtaining many jobs, etc...

The real id law was passed in 2005. As of May 7, 2005 it is required to board domestic flights. The alternate solution is everything mentioned in your post. So, you need to ask your state leaders why they failed to meet the requrement causing citizens so many problems. Fortunately, I live in the free state of Florida which has had the Real ID for many years.

@C_3C_3 What's the context? It just says Government issued ID. The poll is from a year ago, before the public knew what was in the Save America Act. Government issued ID is not the same as proof of citizenship.

Total BS, they say you will save up to 6 minutes. That’s if you ride the whole route. Most will save only 2 minutes but will lose 5 or more than 10 by removing bus stops. Purpose of bus lanes is to ticket violators to raise revenue.
