To be fair, plenty of liberal Jews, myself included, have been very loud about all of this. You’re right, the left is hell for us right now. But the right presents other specific issues, including lack of alignment on abortion rights, trans rights, etc. So we’re stuck. You identified the problem correctly. But there isn’t currently a solution, except perhaps not voting at all.

It's the way of the political Left and it's unholy alliance with Islam. What percentage of American Jews still align with & vote for the Dem Party in 2026? The party that fooled them for decades to be a safe haven while vilifying the conservative side who has in fact stayed Israel's best ally in the West (even with some being swayed by leftwing anti-Israel hatred now). Wow... I'm not a lawyer but from my research it appears that a lot of people misunderstand “actual malice.” Netanyahu does not have to prove that the NYT hates him. Under U.S. defamation law, he would have to prove the paper either knew the allegations were false, or published them with reckless disregard for whether they were true. That is an extremely high bar and why these cases are notoriously difficult to win. What makes this interesting is that the article relied on sources tied to Hamas aligned activist networks and made extremely inflammatory allegations that would normally require overwhelming verification before publication. The fact that it ran in the opinion section does not automatically shield the NYT. Opinion writers have broad protection for arguments and conclusions, but they still cannot knowingly publish false factual claims or recklessly present unverified allegations as true. So the fight will likely center on recklessness. Did the NYT ignore obvious credibility problems? Did they fail to properly vet the claims and sourcing before publishing accusations this serious? The discovery should undoubtedly prove interesting. In my opinion this is long overdue. Curious to hear from lawyers about what might happen here.
