@teslascope Can fsd read sign? There was a newly added no turn on red sign a few months back near my house and use that interception every day. Fsd has been ignoring it. I had to intervene every time

A new “mystery” Tesla has appeared at Giga Texas 👀 The vehicle is fully covered, with even the wheels masked off in white vinyl. A top-down comparison next to a Model Y and Cybertruck gives a better sense of its size and shape. Any guesses what Tesla is cooking up? 👇 $TSLA via @JoeTegtmeyer

Giga Texas has a new “mystery” car under a cover & the wheels also masked off with white vinyl. Fortunately I was able to get a top-down view of this one next to another Model Y & a @Cybertruck for comparison. Any ideas what this might be? 😎

@jgp94 @Cubanbob175778 @SawyerMerritt the best selling car company in the world knows the timeframe.. transportation is not a necessity to own with modern tech. And with hyperinflation of the past few years, ppl want to cut expenses. Simple transport shouldn’t be the most expensive purchase next to a home

And i would have bet that we were further along in the transition to EV but old habits are hard to break. People still want to own cars (just like a lot of people still want to pump gas). I’m fine with Tesla making the decision to leave luxury but no one knows the timeframe that personal cars (including luxury) will cease to exist in relevant numbers.

Lucid has just reported its Q1 2026 earnings results. • Loss per share: -$3.46 vs -$2.64 expected • Revenue: $282M vs. $440M expected • Net loss: -$1 billion Lucid says it plans to adjust production, citing elevated vehicle inventories, which will likely mean reducing production output. “We ended the quarter with elevated inventory that we expect to convert to revenue and cash as deliveries normalize, while maintaining alignment between production and sales cadence. Our focus is on disciplined execution - driving structural cost improvements, managing capital efficiently, and improving operating leverage as we scale,” Lucid CFO Taoufiq Boussaid said.

@jgp94 @Cubanbob175778 @SawyerMerritt Tesla exited luxury because it’s a dying segment (especially for EVs) not cuz there’s any meaningful sales to go elsewhere.. if the EV is priced highly than 50k don’t expect it to sale enough to keep any auto company relevant.

@DirtyTesLa The obsession with speed is tired at this point.. Put it in the setting that follows the speed limit closest as that’s what the car will do in unsupervised. If you live a lifestyle where a few mph makes or breaks your day on your way to the store - AV’s aren’t for you.

The @Tesla Model Y may be a victim of its own success. The more people I talk to say it’s a grea cart, but don’t want one because there are so many of them & they see it as boring. It’s sadly becoming a generic car to a lot of folks without much passion. 🚙

@ray4tesla Shouldn’t have even posted this safety is priority many safe human drivers would stop briefly too til they’re confident they know exactly what’s happening. Always better for an autonomous car to perform a safer action than riskier. A really slow approach or brief stop is safest

Not sure why FSD 14.2.2.5 came to a complete stop in this construction zone—possibly reacting to the mobile flashing yellow light? That said, it did recognize and respond appropriately to the construction worker’s hand signal to proceed.

@OutofSpecDetail There’s nothing wrong with charging this fast, it’s when it cost more, that’s the problem. As an EV owner you don’t mind napping, working, watching content, shopping, eating while charging for 35min. So if the charge/car cost more, I don’t need all that range that fast.

@Chassdesk @cybrtrkguy @SawyerMerritt No one road trips an EV. You rent a larger more convenient gas car for $2-300 and save the wear and tear and mileage on ur EV. If you want to take ur EV well it has pros/cons like everything in life. Theres cons to charging super fast as well

@cybrtrkguy @SawyerMerritt No competition, and Tesla is to focused on costs vs. charging performance. Tesla thinks 5%to80% 40min is acceptable! It’s not acceptable for road trips.

NEWS: BYD today ‌unveiled its second-generation Blade Battery with "Flash Charging 2.0" • LFP • Peak charging speed: 1,500kW • 20% to 97% charge in under 12 minutes, even at -20°C (-4°F) • Charges 10% to 70% in 5 mins • 5% higher energy density • BYD has increased the guaranteed capacity retention rate by 2.5% and promised a lifetime warranty on the battery cells • Delivers a driving range of up to 1,006 km (621 miles) on the (optimistic) CLTC cycle, an improvement from the ~600 km (373 miles) range in the first-generation Blade Battery. The new battery would likely mean a 450 mile range if tested on the EPA cycle. • Ten BYD models will be the first to feature the battery • The Yangwang U7, equipped with a 150-kWh battery pack, "achieves a pure electric range of 1,006 km, while the fully electric Denza Z9GT have a range of up to 1,036 km" on CLTC cycle. BYD also aims to expand its "Flash Charging" network to 20,000 stations by the end of 2026, including 2,000 on highways. The company had built more than 4,000 stations as of March 5. However, keep in mind that in the past BYD has been slow to roll out promised ultra fast charging infrastructure expansion.

@SantoroSystems @ChickadeeChai @SawyerMerritt Downside is cost/infrastructure. Fast or super fast charging costs a lot more that slow charging. Also where do you need to go that requires 80% battery and you only have 5min to start driving? It is EXTREMELY rare to need that much range that fast.

@TailosiveEV As a robotaxi it will be affordable by EVERYONE and used by everyone, children and elderly ppl alike, as a 25k 2 seater vehicle it will be a a very niche product. All American automotive companies are failing cuz of your train of thought. The future is autonomous.

I understand the obsession with autonomy… But seriously imagine how cool it would be to have a vehicle on the website that’s: -$25K -Steer by wire -Auto presenting doors -Hatchback -Ultra efficient (~6 miles per kWh) Won’t outsell Model 3 but WILL outsell Cybertruck/S/X

@OutofSpecDetail 30 min is perfect. 15-20min 10-80% is not enough time to get anything done while your car is charging. All my favorite DCFCs are at Target lots or Shopping centers in LA. 15min isn’t enough time. Til it’s 5min or less 10-80 30min is the sweet spot

I’m so conflicted with my feelings on R2’s stated charging performance. 240kW max and 10-80% in 30 minutes… -It feels very underwhelming knowing the Model 3/Y has had the same charging performance for YEARS. It feels like a shame to launch an EV in 2026 built from the ground up and not make charging a priority. Heck i’d be happy if it matched the charging performance of my 84kWh EV6 10-80% in 21min. -On the other hand I do appreciate most folks don’t use DCFC every single day, and likely wouldn’t pay more for a better charging vehicle. -This feels like an easy cop out to “cut costs” when China is producing cars at a fraction of the cost blowing every single car we have here out of the water when it comes to charging. I’m a nerd, I want to see innovation, I want to see companies pushing the bleeding edge of innovation. At the end of the day, none of this will matter, 95%, heck probably 99% of customers will find the R2 charging performance perfectly acceptable. So I’m wrong 🤷‍♂️
