The fact that a large part of the college football media zeitgeist have had vocal sympathy for Brendan Sorsby and will actively be rooting for him to be eligible makes me sick. Sorsby, his lawyer, and everyone trying to get him eligible should be mocked and ridiculed.

Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby, who is under NCAA investigation for making bets via a gambling app, has retained the noted lawyer Jeffrey Kessler to try to regain his college eligibility, sources tell me and @PeteThamel. If Sorsby and Kessler are unsuccessful in finding a path to eligibility, declaring for the NFL’s supplemental draft then would become an option. Sorsby would have until June 30 to declare for the supplemental draft.

I will forever cherish my friendship with Doc Wefald. A remarkable visionary who saved Kansas State academically and athletically. He understood the role of athletic success in a university setting.
He was also kind, a great conversationalist and compelling historian. Miss him.

Four years ago today the world lost Dr. Jon Wefald. Last time Wefald called we watched a NCAA Tournament game together over the phone while he discussed history of Michigan hoops. That was the final time we spoke before he passed. Fittingly, our last talk was about sports.
