Those who follow the market closely may have noticed a new mineral water product called GanZim. It's now available in most retail outlets and is considerably cheaper than other brands, three litres for just one dollar. Even more striking, an 18 litre bottle is priced at only USD 2.69. This is notably more affordable than other products that also use reverse osmosis. Competition is healthy in any market, as it helps drive prices down. In fact, we are already seeing other companies lowering their prices in response.

Tungwarara Is Playing a Dangerous Game. As a political scientist and long-time observer of Zimbabwe’s ruling elite, I must say this without equivocation: Paul Tungwarara is playing a very dangerous game. His recent political maneuvers, public outbursts, and prophetic entanglements are not just theatrics they are calculated moves in a high-stakes power play that threatens to upend the delicate balance within ZANU PF’s top echelons. Tungwarara must tread carefully. His rapid ascent from businessman to Presidential Advisor and now a likely candidate for co-option into the Central Committee has not gone unnoticed. In fact, it has rattled the cages of many within the party’s old guard. Figures like Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, Supa Mandiwanzira, Patrick Chinamasa, and Jenfan Muswere are watching with a mix of suspicion and unease. And rightly so. Why? Because Tungwarara represents a new breed of political actor: one who blends business acumen, spiritual endorsement, and proximity to the presidency into a potent cocktail of influence. Should he secure a seat in the Central Committee, he will not only consolidate his institutional power but also eclipse many of the so-called “spent forces” who have long relied on legacy credentials rather than contemporary relevance. But therein lies the peril. ZANU PF is not a party that rewards meteoric rises without resistance. It is a party of hierarchies, of gatekeepers, of unwritten rules and coded loyalties. Tungwarara’s boldness his willingness to name and shame, to invoke prophecy as political legitimacy, and to challenge the status quo makes him a threat. And threats in ZANU PF are rarely tolerated for long.If he is not careful, he will find himself isolated, undermined, or worse sacrificed at the altar of party unity. The same system that elevated him can just as swiftly discard him. History is replete with such examples. In politics, especially in ZANU PF, power is not just about proximity to the President. It is about navigating the minefield of factional interests, surviving the whispers in the corridors, and knowing when to speak and when to remain silent. Tungwarara may be rising, but he is also glowing too brightly. And in Zimbabwean politics, those who shine too fast often burn out just as quickly.

Ichoo Ndichoo!! Welcome to the First Edition of Sabhuku's Eye, where I give you personal, insightful breakdowns of many topical national issues. This will be a regular exercise in delivering truth. Anyone's discomfort with facts is understandable since chokwadi chinorwadza. Learn, unlearn and relearn. Enjoy! ............................ The laboured attempts by Sekuru Geza and his handlers to engineer an uprising against a legitimately elected Gvt and President is the clearest sign that the removal of President Mugabe wasn't simply a gung-ho military expedition with military heroes playing superman, as some have been labouring to portray it. Rather, it was largely a byproduct of Political tact, Parliamentary power and grassroots mobilisation around a clear National Agenda. The effectiveness of the 2017 uprising wasn't premised on the heroics of any one individual, whether military, civilian or political. It was largely based on the power of people uniting and Parliament working in unison to move motions for impeachment. The Army was largely an addendum to the whole thing, a precautionary addition effective only through the power of its presence rather than any practical action. The single incident of its most opportune action was in saving then CDF Chiwenga from arrest when he arrived, midway through the uprising, from China. Lieutenant-General Sanyatwe, then leading the Presidential Guard, intervened to save him. Another incident that confirms this assertion is the famous Asante Sana speech by President Mugabe. That speech was a derisive dismissal of military power as he ignored them and refused to resign. What finally shifted his position and compelled him to resign were the actions of Parliament, which moved a motion for his impeachment. I was central to the arrangement and was initially chosen to Second the impeachment Motion which would be moved by Hon James Maridadi. Later changes resulted in Hon Monica Mutsvangwa moving the Motion and Hon Maridadi Seconding. These were the moves which actually compelled Mugabe to resign not any military scheming! Diplomatic overtures involving then Justice Minister Bonyongwe and Speaker Francis Mudenda had shown him the dangers of being impeached, which included losing immunity and facing criminal charges. Thus, the Army had a decorative presence, as a show of power and reassurance for timid masses, while Parliament and a political scheme where all political parties united under a legitimate National Cause rather than personal political ambitions of a few, led the charge. Army Fatigues And Infantile Infatuations Now Sekuru Geza and his handlers have a misguided infatuation with the military and seem to think the Army is the ultimate trump card in politics. It's not! Mugabe's famous adage that politics must lead the gun was a succinct summation of all the knowledge the Geza camp needs at this juncture. Geza's own videos in Army camouflage betray their hubristic and yet infantile belief in the might of the gun. You can't manufacture a mass uprising premised primarily on one individual's quest for power and hatred for the current leader. That isn't a reason enough to attract people. Neither can you use the Army as a private entity to undermine the people by advancing the interests of an elite clique. What is the central and national question that the Geza demonstration seeks to answer? When Sekuru complains about his need for bodyguards and vehicles, how does that resonate or align with the rest of the country? Post-dem,o what is Geza and his handlers offering to the rest of the people, or are they simply seeking to use the people as a vehicle towards selfish ambitions for power? Some of us have queried the selective application of the anti-corruption fight, and that betrays the absence of people as beneficiaries of this treasonous plan. By simply seeking a National approach in fighting corruption, I have been attacked and my home burnt. That is an indictment that whatever is being orchestrated doesn't seek national development but the selfish realisation of some personal dreams. The country has sufficient instruments for a change of Gvt and none of those involve a Coup. Those agitating for change should form political parties to contest elections, join ZANU-PF and compete for posts or push for impeachment through Parliament. The Elective Congress is another opportunity for the ambitious to stand up and be counted. In this matrix Provincial Chairpersons are key as they carry the mandate of the Provinces which vote. You can't posture about possessing power in ZANU PF when you don't have the support or control of these Chairpersons. It thus becomes imperative for any ambitious politician to have support within the party, not just social media. Internal support is sacrosanct to any political ambitions otherwise, one becomes a Social Media Influencer or YouTuber (I see you Sekuru Geza). However, it should also be noted and serve as a cautionary point that at the Conference, as in Mutare, the President himself has powers to remove anyone from office while he cannot be removed himself. Ndichoo Ichoo!
